@hamtarro1 Yes they did - they were making multiple trips back and forth - my guess it that they built a nest in there, and were collecting materials for it. The funny thing was, this "circus" happened ~everytime~ the other pigeon tried to get in. Got to give him props for trying though :-)
It appears to be a young bird, probably the offspring of the first bird to enter. Learning by observing is anything but stupid. We are probably fortunate that pigeons and other animals are not as intellegent as humans, they might be running the show. But then that may not be a bad thing.
It wasn't an offspring (baby pigeons do not have the white spot on their beaks until about 2 months old), it was the (probably male) partner of the other bird ... and it definitely wasn't as smart as its better half ! :-)
Actually I think it was pretty damn smart of these pigeons to build their nest somewhere where they could have a "security system"

Indeed, pigeons are actually quite smart.
I'm a firm believer of that, and I keep them as pets as well.
