I'm a non-Thai who disagrees with the actions of the reds (disrupting the ASEAN summit, attacking the PM's vehicle, using the Monarchs name in vain, etc.). I have frequently visited Bangkok and love Thailand.
I would like to suggest those who disagree with the 'red shirts' to start a BOYCOTT.
DO NOT RIDE ANY TAXI UNLESS THEY CAN PROVE TO BE NON-RED
This will work because only middleclass people can afford taxi fare. Lets see how long these 'red shirt' taxi drivers will last.
THaksin just wants democracy to return to Thailand, so that he can come back here to fight court charges in a fair manner and that the poor can rise against present dictatorship who are backed by tha army generals and corrupt government
. Many red shirts are willing to storm BKK and voice their opinions on their own. Almost everything (media, military, courts, etc) is controlled by the government, and the government is backed by the Privy Council.
They are not destroying the economy. They are standing up for what they believe. I admire them for their courage. People worldwide are getting tired of the crap that politicians are putting them through. People need to wake up and realise all over the world the "elite" try to rob power from the non elite and eliminate their voice. People around the world should stand up for what they believe. Government is built to control the masses, not to help. Everyone needs to wake up!
For a super-hero who does not pay taxes and shop around the world and videotaped his speeches (ala Al Qaeda) for distribution ... and does even want to answer charges in court ..... this is not the middle-class war.. it is about the 'Chinese' bourgeoise from Chiengmai wanting to control Thailand.
The Thugsin told Thais to go for wealth at all costs, by all means.
He even sacked the Muslim Mayor of South Thailand and caused Muslim unrest in the South until now.
He divorced his wife hoilding his properties so that the government cannot touch his properties.
What sort of person is this guy. Just come back to Thailand and bring lawyers to answer charges... FIRST OF ALL, HOW CAN HE SELL SHINCORP AND THEN DON'T PAY TAXES FOR IT....
FIRST THINGS FIRST.... DON'T TALK ABOUT ANY OTHER THING.....
JUST TALK ABOUT SHINCORP FIRST..... don't digress, don't distract, to squirm, and don't wriggle out of this issue.
Can't agree more of what a currupted ass hole he is. But you have to give him a credit though.
Taksin will be remembered as a man who opens the eyes of so many people in the nation to break free from the control of the old power that take them no where.
r1massey I agree; if these red shirts are killd by this goverment which came to power illegally they will become martyrs for democracy and Thailand, for thailand means land of the free.
sorry, but I think the government came to power legally acording to the constitution law bla bla bla.... you have to blame it on the 2-standard justice system. They are all on the "phooyai" side. They're too much too powerful you can't do anything.
[sign], so it appears that in this mist of moral injustice the only practical course of action is to phyiscally protest to loosen this elitist undemocratic iron grip. I would hate to see more protesting in which people risk their welfare, also for the short term its damaging the economy. I only curse the unfair leaders who abused their positions of responsbility when they pushed a real just elected goverment out of office at the demand of a tiny mob dressed in yellow.
Thaksin is a money-maker.
He don't care about the poeles who are living in Thaîland or anywhere else He want power and dollars....

our justice system is screwed.
before making a political revolution, we need to make a cultural revolution first.
and I don't see how we're gonna achive that. It seems to be no solution.

@fiat186v2 I don't see any double standard for the justice system in thailand.
The justice system is still the last system that still remain really clean till today.
