Cut it out guys, 'Arab unity' is a myth; stale bread for the poor. Unity means one voice - that of the Dictator, but there are millions of people, and everybody wants something else from life. Democracy is not about 'unity', democracy is plurality - many voices, compensating acts. Democracy is pluralism; it's about forming coalitions and starting to negotiate, will and deal within the ‘rule of Law’, while everybody is under the law.

The problem with the Arabs is that for so long they have followed a failed 7th century order written by nomads and illiterate people (islam). Dont expect to see success flourish when this way of life is the centerpiece of culture.

This is why all there countries are the poorest and dont invent anything.

i am absolutely against islamic union allthough i take religion seriously.

for three reasons:

1) i think that only the person who has the freedom to choose if he wants to be religious or not can be truly religious.

like there is stated in the quran:

there is no compulsion in religion

i dont think islamic regime makes people more religious. look at the countries with islamic regime in the arab world: saudi arabia.

i would say one of the least religious countries.

Agreed. Right after the prophet died the divisions began. Im a muslim but it aint gonna work for worldly affairs. We have to use universal principles: Truth&Justice. With fairness being Justice. Equal opportunity. Not just for ppl. w/divine titles. Shukry of Syria said: half of the country is made up of leaders the other half prophets. Its the same for most of the Arab world. We need Allah to guard&guide our souls&conscience. We need a secular govt. to guide&guard our nation.

Arabs countries should restore democracy, seperate religion from politics and increase education level in general and among women in particular. Then sign economic treaties, welcome transfer of technology from developed countries and world will be a much better place to live with sustainable peace.

Why is it that the US wont go into Darfur and save those millions, Why is it that the US cannot defend its borders or uphold it's own laws. Islam has become culture way of life to arabs and they do not value words like allahu akbar and subhanallah. I once seen Saudi girls half naked in soccer game{in UAE} Guess what flag they were wearing?
