  • Bluebell - a ranger without Twin Strike?! That's just lame...

  • Pay no attention to the man behind the black...whatever it is! @2:36

  • Never played 4th edition (Am kind of a 3.5 snob bu watching this and the one with Wil Wheaton have made me a little more interested) but I was wondering if 4th edition removed the grapple cause he's had the bloodsuckers on him for a few rounds and didn't do anything about it

  • Don't Stirges do ongoing 5 dmg when grabbed onto a target? why did CHris roll dmg for that?

  • @xraykat624 Because he is the DM, so he probably modified the rules to fit his story.

  • i wonder if they forgot about there magic helper gem thing the dwarf face gave them.

  • 2:35 "soon!"

  • "...and then I'm going to.. just stab myself in the throat."

  • Lol, poor Ramrock.

  • @scotlandloose I think that's what it is, dealing with inexperienced players, from the other games I've seen him do he usually adds much more colour to the proceedings than he is here.

  • Every time they say Ranrock, I think they're saying Ramrod. LMAO

  • @winsumginger come in car ramrod

  • how does a warfoged wink?? because they are basically living statues that can talk?

  • @DenzaMan i'd guess they have like a car window style eyelid. probably makes the same noise when they do it

  • @scotlandloose I was kinda thinking the same thing... I mean, he just says the numbers of the damage and occasionally tosses out a small bit of detail ("The skeleton exploded. the skeleton exploded. the skeleton exploded."), and just kinda seems to be running through the pre-written quest. I mean, he definitely doesnt suck, it just seems kinda... eh.

  • @sintua yup, this was a pre written quest that chris wrote, it would be more awesome if he said something more flavorful aside from "it exploded"

  • @scotlandloose really? That DM is the legendary Chris Perkins,DM to the stars. He travels the world and gets paid to DM. Maybe you should do more research, and check out more of his vids :)

  • why every big bearded men makes good and fun players? lol x)

  • "In the navy" I loled

  • a ranger without twin strike blasphemy!!

  • They're at the end now, and now Chris is explaining/suggesting powers to them.I think he should have done that earlier, and the players should have read their char.

Cuz now they really are just "doing something", and have absolutely no clue about what they are doing. Another consequence is no teamwork.. Not in combat. I think Ranrock is kinda the tank, but he doesn't protect anyone, the wizard isn't protect by anyone... Here they get the idea of DnD, but they are not really playing it yet.

  • ranrock is a boss in all of these videos so far

  • ... in the navy, you can put your mind at ease

god bless the village people. : )

  • DnD is WAY more fun when EVERYONE knows the rules..i just started DMing and play DnD( i actually never played,i only DMed) and its growing out of hand..we started off with 2 players and a DM now we have almost ten..and ALL of then have never played..I am making a new rule..in order to play u must read the basic rules hahahah

  • @RTard48JRod But wasn't it freaking fucking difficult to DM for the first time if you've never tried to be player? I've also been DM'ing for some time now, but I'm quite glad I got to be player first - otherwise I would have found it a lot harder to handle the enounters.

  • @RTard48JRod 10 players for a single game sounds cumbersome--a single round must take 35 minutes. There's a reason the recommended party count is 5.

Must read basic rules is a good prerequisite though.

  • Quick question: how many minor actions are allowed per turn? Just one? I know that in e3.5 there were "free actions" that you could do an unlimited amount of, I'm not sure about minor actions though.

  • @duffmasterofpuppets It was the same. In 3.5 you had to do things in a certain order though (unless dm said otherwise). Move, minor and then action.

  • @duffmasterofpuppets it was a free action that is why it can be done unlimited amount... but all in all... it was just like the same with 3.5... i just don't know why a lot of people says 4th ed sucks... i think having in 3.5 is not that great... you have to pick spells and most of the time.. the spells you pick doesn't go with the situation.. so you end up worthless in the team... just like the wizards.. in 3.5 wizards rely on spells against enemy.. so what happen if you run out of spells?

  • That's a working out of combat for a D & D game. I remember rolling a d20 for Thac0 and hitting, rolling a dice and seeing how much damage I did. It's gone and changed baby!

  • @dickogeorge you still need to roll dice and see how much damage you gave... some creature specially minions has weak hp that instantly damaged when you attack... but if you face a creature let's say a single goblin dark blade.. then it's a different talk... by the way, goblin dark blades are not a magical nor special creatures.. they are a normal goblins... only good at back stabbing.. :)

  • ya tom drow suck

  • Just out of curiosity, but could Steel Diamond, with the Stirges on him at the time, just run back and jump into the freezing cold water? I mean, YEAH, they'd have to fish him out, but wouldn't that damage, even possibly KILL the monsters?

or...is that kinda of outside of the box TOO outside for the awesomeness of DnD?

  • @kilnorc

No, it's too outside the box for the players. ;)

  • @kilnorc yes it can kill the stirges stock on him.. back think... if your on engagement and your party is having a problem of their own.. would you dare to jump of a 20 feet high clip straight to a freezing pool and expect others to save you after wards? i think they rather let you freeze to death for doing such action. :)

  • @jamesalbis well, maybe MY friends would, yeah, but hey, if they don't, then i know better for next time! LOL

  • @kilnorc LOL. yeah.. that will only show who your real friends are... haha

  • I love your guys' game room. Is it just a storage room or something? it looks great!

  • thanks for upping this, it's great, i hope you upload more d&d adventures!

  • are the names of the songs that play in the credits listed anywhere?

  • "then out of no were, ranrock falls after his fail attack."

  • love the chairs

  • None of us use the character builder, so what we do is type our powers out in openoffice writer, place them in cutepdf and print out two copies. One for the player and one for the DM. This allows the DM to read the powers without passing paper back and forth.

We don't use errata, so the CB isn't for us.

  • Did they do away with critical hits in version 4? I don't remember anyone getting a crit this entire time.

  • @ArterionX No, they are still there if you hit a 20 on the dice, but i guess they don't roll that way :P

  • @ArterionX They do, but in 4e, if you crit you deal max damage instead of having to reroll.

  • @Drecon84 Then what about weapons that originally dealt triple or quadruple damage?

  • @Cocobunny911 that weapon can still be used.. defends on the DM's suggestion... DM still holds the rule of what he wants to put in... The books only gives supplement to the game but the DM still decides what gives their game enjoyment to the players. :)

  • this is absolutely amazing, thank you for upping this and thank you wotc for making this happen.

  • *Ohhhh... classic Ranrock* ahahahaha! Guys, I love you all. This has been a GREAT series so far! I'd love to see a regular Robot Chicken D&D skit.

  • i am so looking forward to the RC skit with ramrock that you just know they are gonna make ;)

  • @theshadowcult "RaNrock" He Ran, and then he ROCKED.

  • Cloud of Darkness is a minor action racial ability. It's not a waste if you get combat advantage (+2 to hit them) and the enemy can't see you (-5 to hit you). Chris should have reviewed the PCs he brought with him.

  • i think he's just trying to keep it fast so it remains watchable. I know my party would take about an hour if not more to finish this encounter off :/

  • It's all so recognizable :) Lots of fun!

  • turn on the captions. its hilarious

  • hahahahha im so high, i just shat my pants....

this is an awesome series guys, thanks agian.

  • Please upload episode 19 soon!!!

  • please upload the next on there great!!!

  • "Classic Ranrock..." Lol.

  • Best Episode so far!

  • i hope they turn this adventure in to an actual robot chicken episode - that could be pretty hilarious!

  • Hell yeah. They add animation to this. I'd definitely buy it.

  • lol, awesome.

  • calling that the wizard will scorching burst the bard next episode.

  • This is why i play Pathfinder Rpg as a revised version of 3.5 that 4th should have been,

  • @sithdl76 yeah, i love it when a third level paladin power is stronger than a 18 level fighter power.

  • Are you being sarcastic or agreeing with me?

  • Of course im being sarcastic

  • @senorcakenice yeah i hate it when a third level wizard can cast more spells than a 18 level barbarian

    it's not about levels stupid

  • Thankyou Duschen..not being sarcastic.

  • Well its stupid when a third level wizard is more powerful than a 18 level barbarian

    u mad :)

  • having played both, Pathfinder still has many of the problems that 3.5 did.

4E isn't perfect but its a solid improvement over both.

Twin strike is easily handled. Get into the rangers gril if he's an archer or hang back if he's a 2 weapon fighter.

  • Exactly Firestreak! Pathfinder isn't a bad rpg game by any means.

It's just 4E is better balanced (but still not perfectly balanced)

  • the ranger doesn't have twin strike because twin strike is so crazy broken. i houserule it so my rangers can't have it because basically all other strikers can't compare.

  • That's completely inaccurate. It isn't THAT far ahead of other at-wills. The ranger has the highest burst damage of any striker because of it, but other strikers can compete without much fuss.

  • Good stuff. Keep 'em coming.

I'm playin' tonight...it's been two weeks and these vid's have got me through. lol

  • How could he do that wrong? If those are stirges, then, unless he changed them, it means that the players are grabbed and thus immobilized when hit by the stirges and they can escape to get away from the attached creatures. Also, he rolled for damage at the start of Steel Diamond's turn, but shouldn't that be 5 ongoing damage? I'm now assuming that he did change them to make them 'easier to understand', but that in fact makes them more lethal.

  • *wink*

  • terrific!! and terrorific runes too!! jaja

    From Chile!

  • Why doesn't the ranger have twin strike?

  • Sweeeet ! more more more of the greatest !

  • 1st! JK awesome job guys!
