If you are using a newer computer with Windows 7 and you've downloaded the Windows Live Movie Maker version then it won't be the same. This video was made a while back on my older computer that has Windows Vista operating system and came with Movie Maker version 6. Good luck.
@padrak18 Sorry I am not using Windows Live, which goes with windows 7. I bought Adobe Premier Elements for about $80 to use when I got a new Windows 7 computer. You could do a youtube search for text editing wmm windows 7 and search google too for some tutorials. good luck
@poloisindahouse If you are using a computer that runs on Windows 7, the system used the past few years, where you downloaded movie maker from Windows Live on the net, then it will be different. If you're using a computer older than 2 years which is using an operating system called Vista, then the version of movie maker you have will be version 6.0 which will have "Tools", check to see what sytem you are using. good luck
@tangent123456 click on the clip where you want the title or text to happen before that clip, click on Tools, click Titles and Credits, click Before selected clip, click to enter your text, click Change title animation, click to select Moving Titles, layered, transparent overlapping titles, good luck and best wishes
@kristigott but do i need any program for that? cuz i can't figure out where to type in my text/title..please if you could make a step-by-step tutorial, that would be great!! :D im a slow learner lol
@tangent123456 The program you need is Windows Movie Maker, version 6, that came free with the Vista operating sytem. If you bought your computer since last Fall you'll have a Windows 7 operating system that does not come with a movie maker program. If you bought it before the era of the Vista operating system then you'll have a different version of movie maker, although it is similiar it's not the same.
There is an option labled "subtitles" under text. But, you can use the "Annotations" on youtube to add text, change the color of the text box background, and drag it to go anywhere on the video. They didn't have this when I made this video but I use it a lot now. Go to youtube, click on your name to see your videos listed with the options for editing on youtube, click on Annotations. Good luck!
it didn't helped me at all.. i wanted to know how to control the tim ing of text on the clip. problem with me is that text disaapears only after 3.45 seconds on a clip of 9 seconds. and it is damn frustrating!!!
Sorry the vid didn't help but I can tell you how to control the timing of the text on the clip. In the timeline view put your mouse pointer on the text clip toward the right side of it, see the arrow that appears, then drag the clip to the right to make the clip show for a longer period of time, or click on the text clip and drag it along the timeline so it plays anywhere during the vid that you want it to. Let me know if this doesn't help and we can do more. good luck.
there are only two possibilities .... either i m veru stupid or something wrong with window movie maker... lolz... if u can make a video only on how to control timming ... then it would be great... thanks a lot again!!!
To put text in the bottom right or upper left I think it would be easiest to use the annotations on youtube instead of using windows movie maker text. After you upload the video to youtube, click on your name in the upper right on the page and go to the list where you can click 'edit' and next to edit you'll see "annotations." Click there and go to a page where you can add text boxes and drag them around on the screen to put them anywhere you want.
yes. It's called annotations, those notes in the square boxes, sometimes with a colored background. Go to youtube, click on your name in the upper right to go to your personal video list, not your channel, below each video listing you'll see where you can click to edit, add annotations, etc. Click Annotations, when you get there you click to start the video then click on a little box to the right of the video to get the place where you type in a note or annotation. Save and publish.
The text animation doesn't actually have a "top left corner" option but if you have Vista and WMM 6.0 you can scroll through the options in case there is something else that will work. Also, you could use youtube's Annotations, where you add a bubble of text and drag it to where you want it. Good luck.
Click on the Clip in the timeline to select it. Then Click "Tools", then click "Titles and Credits," then click "title on selected clip", then type in the text you want inn the box. Then click "Change the title animation", scroll until you find "News Video, Inset" "Video inset with news banner overlay" and click on that, then click Add Title.
you know at 1:08 the way you put your name under your pic which move to a corner how do you do that (i know how how to put that effect put i don't know where to put it for it to work? help plz!
The Animation refers to text that moves, not to cartoon style or Disney style animation. Under "Tools" on the menu choose "Titles and Credits" then choose where you want text to be located, on the clip, before the clip, etc., then you'll see a choice to Change Text Animation and when you click on it you'll see lots of options. The text can be scrolling from bottom to top, fly in from the side, spin in, flash on and off, etc.
This is Windows Movie Maker version 6 that comes with Vista Home Premium. If you have an earlier version it will be different. In version 6 if you go to Tools, Titles and Credits, then choose where you want the text, the next option will include animating the text.
Good but you need to get to the point faster
