I still wanna know how they can say with a straight face that these books are based on Herbert's notes - If you read Daniel and Marty's conversation at the end of Chapterhouse, it seems pretty obvious that they are, in fact, Face Dancers. I cannot see how Herbert intended to have them be the thinking machines that he had never even written specifically about.
the last Dune book is Ch.D, all the dung pinky and the brain wrote doesn't and will never count...
No true fan of FH would want to recognize this as participating to the Duniverse.
Lying about these notes(if you follow their statements over the years you'll see the story changes_probably the only time they span a good story anyway)
join the Orthodox Herbertarians!
Erasmus is a tranny and Skynet belongs to Terminator!
That's for sure. Thank God Erasmus is an interesting character, or the whole Legends [The Jihad] and Sandworms would have been a total bust.
I knew when I read that ol' Norma Cenva was going to be in Sandworms that she'd be popping her over-sized head into things, with her fairy-tale like eliminating of Omnius, And Erasmus flicking the "mental switch" and killing billions of Face Dancers in less than 30 seconds is almost laughable if it weren't so tragic.
If the "hidden enemy" were to be face dancers, then it would have been so underwhelming...
Whilst I don't think Brian or Kevin can hold a candle to Frank's style, they simply did their best with the material given to them.

What would you start a jihad against?
I nominate talentless sons who descrate their father's genius.

I'm surprised none of you "so called fans" have made any attempts to sue either of them.

You can't sue people merely for making money off of someone else's fame... well, when that person is dead.

in addition Herbert Partnership owns the right to the Dune books which means Brian owns its right

At least the Dune stories are still coming out, and who better to write them then Frank Herbert's son.

The only canonical books are those ones written by Frank Herbert!
cmsahe 3 years ago
Considering his son owns the rights and wrote the last two based on notes his father left, I'd say all of them are canonical.
