  • 26 years ago today I had 5 days and a wake up till graduation day from Parris Island.3RD BTN ICO.PLT.3015 Damn,I wish I was back there.Feb.27 1985...

  • Alright, that looked like they had to empty their pockets, so in the possibility that my grades don't allow me to serve my country by engineering for it, I'll remember to put my shit in my backpack, or whatever pack they hand you.

  • God, I rember them days, like it was yseterdsy, WOW!!!!!

  • y does that DI want the recruit not looking at him? isnt eye contact being respectful??

  • @nickgt111

That's the point, he's giving him contradictory orders to force him to deal with the stress of that. When at attention you have to just look forward that's all he should do, even when told to not look at the DI who is right in front of him. He should just look straight and yell "Yes sir".

  • @nickgt111 you dont rate it as a recuir...

    recruits are sub human.

But trust me, the second you end the reaper hike, the second you stand on that parade deck in Edson range Camp Pendleton... the second they hand you that EGA and call you a Marine. That second is the longest, happiest, most fulfilling second of your life. Never again will you feel the way you had just felt.... cherish it.

  • @Ohyawellfuku true dat warriors breakfast was the shit all i can eat cake and ice cream haha

  • By the end of any basic training session, platoons can see through their DI's. By that I mean, they can see that the ballistic discipline was necessary and there is a method to their madness. If you want to see a DI go truly bananas, catch someone trying to get one over on their platoon. My DI was one of the greatest models of discipline I've ever encountered.

  • @XeroJaeger Or fail the MAP portion in PRAK week when your DI gave you the answers.

    that was a horrible night.

  • Great times. I was a scrawny 18 year old kid. Turned 19 in bootcamp (worst birthday). Twice I thought I might not make it: the damn pool and the mountains. I still cringe when I hear "lock on." Like most who choose the Corps, I had pride and desire for days, but you don't know yourself well until you try something like Marine Corps bootcamp. Since then, I've graduated from UCLA and will get a Ph.D oneday, but becoming a Marine blows those things out of the water. No contest.

  • I don't know why, but I love it when the DI power bombs that dude's stuff at 0:26. : p

  • Ah the memories

  • marines aint born they're made

  • i never saw this footage in the movie O-o

  • @lilbenzdude You call him a drill sargent? Out fucking standing!

  • @lilbenzdude

Hey there, retard. I'm going to join all my fellow Marines and square you away. He's a DRILL INSTRUCTOR, not a drill sergeant! Get it right!

  • @lilbenzdude Out fucking standing dipshit. USMC has Drill INSTRUCTORS.

  • Comment removed

  • hahaha i love the ending "get your eyeballs off me pig look somewhere else!"

  • Okay children, Arguing on youtube. out fucking standing.

  • @VFswimmer18 You made me LOL

  • I Dare a recruit to call a Marine Drill instructor a DI....See what happens.....Only fleet marines refer to them as DI. But never on the Island or too their face.....

  • I'll bet you those DIs have zero stress in thier lives...they let it all out at work!

  • There Drill Instructors not DIs

  • I'm in the military. It's DI.

  • Um what branch? Because if a Marine ever heard ya say that he would correct you! so un fuck your self quick like

  • I'm Air Force. However, I've heard Marines refer to Drill Instructors as DIs numerous times. What unit are you in?

  • @neeonzen who really gives a fuck? say what you want your not in recruit training anymore,

  • im a fucking marine and its DI's and Drill Instructors it means the same thing

  • @minorkaos ur a fkin retard!

  • i am a drill instructor in the marine corps and it is di

  • It's "they're" not "there," and we (Marines) do often refer to them as DIs.

  • my fav vid on youtube

  • Im a future marine too. DOPE ass vid

  • Ditto here grunt. i gotta disagree wit ya though, i thought this was pretty beast.

  • dude i know. dope means its a cool ass video. it motivates the hell out of me!!

  • ''Get your eyes off me pig!'' haha

  • Are the drill instructors just testing your limits or are they actually pissed off at new recruits? I wish I knew a DI, I'd ask him what he thinks when new people show up

  • Drill Instructors are professional military instructors. They never yell and scream and demand anything out of emotion. They do it because it is the best way to teach what they need to teach. They want you to graduate, they want you to learn what you need to learn. But no, they won't make it easy and they won't ever "break character."

There is a certain "love" they have for their platoons, but it is earned by showing them you can give them what they demand of you.

  • AMEN

  • @jonesyterp yep and when your platoon/flight gets to that point your TI/DI becomes a father. I cant explain it but we all wanted him to be proud of us and holy shit he was. Thats all we cared about.

  • @jonesyterp Exactly. If you do exactly what is expected and asked of you, you will breeze by Boot Camp and the military, however if you argue back, you will have a hard time. You sir, I thank you for enlighting those Trolls out there. :)

  • @jonesyterp BULLSHIT THEIR MAD BECAUSE THEY MAKE SHIT MONEY

  • No.....the DI's arent actually pissed off at them, they teach dicipline in a manner of which uses yelling. They are trying to make these recruites into Marines.

  • I met alot of DIs and 1st of all its their job. Secondly and most important, they know that the hard work they put into the recruits, will result into good recruit trng.

I was so glad our DIs were tougher than all the other ones in our company. We actually turned out pretty good Marines.

  • this wasnt in the movie wtf

  • man i hated recieving. it was so boring...

  • he he he...the Good Old Days!

  • lol thank you for sharing
