I actually like this endind where is really shows that Dracula DOES have a venerable side. IT shows that even an abandoned church, if sanctified, will overpower and overwhelm him. It really shows his religious and holy weakness.

@isleofyew1 The only thing more evil than Dracula. Jesus, a back from the dead zombie. This Movie was real good tell that ending. Might as well have had Dracula die from leukemia or gingivitis.

The powerful "Jesus is history" establishment almost always bleeds us dry more often sooner than later. There is no cleverer well organized and camouflaged sick evil in the universe than the Catholic, university degree holding, vermin. Our hero Dracula is just an honest creature of the night where he is sheltered from fake Jesus sungod "theorays".

@isleofyew1 I'm having a little girl in January. So put us down for 1 more atheist. My wife says we can have one more kid after her. I'm putting up a fight for a third though. I tell my wife, Look at all children Religious nuts have. We are sort of torn because the world is so over populated that we think people should slow down on children. On the other side of the coin. If religious conservatives are the only ones having large family's...Screwed either way I guess.

as a matter of fact it was the sunlight from the smashed window (which dracula smased) that retored the sanctity of the church and so he was hallucinating the church hall's original form with all the crucifixis and so forth. that's what made weak and then died

Dracula is the nightmare of many poor humans in these stories....and here we got a glimps of what is HIS nightmare..... :3 It was like the nightmare's nightmare.... I love this movie and all that Chris Lee played Dracula in. He just brought something to Dracula, something extra

For those who dont understand the ending; Old Drac became delirious by the overwhelming presence of the sanctity of the church, the crucifixes, and symbols of crosses...remember his passage out of there was blocked, though he could of easily turned into a bat and found a way to escape.

I actually like the ending...it's a departure from the usual killed by sunlight or stake...I like the way it's done from Dracula's point of view with the organ and Latin sermon in the background...a fine ending to one of the best Hammer films IMO

These Dracula movies always have weak rushed endings, with Dracula dieing in the most embarrassing absurd ways. they really should have worked on that, but I enjoyed this all the same thx's for putting it up.

I dont understand how he died... He was in the church all along and it didnt do anything to him, but he dies when he looks down on it from the window? A pretty bad location for a vampire to rest in to begin with. Good movie nevertheless!

@FearMyPants My understanding is that Paul started reciting verses of the Bible or a part of a masse ceremony. He had also changed the black drapes and candels for white one that  represents God and the positive side. So I think that just hearing the preaching was too much for him.

Dracula always seems really clumsy and stupid during the final battles in these movies. Here he just climbs up high and throws shit at the good guys.
