For shorter commutes bikes always win. I bike more then 42 miles per day to work, shower at a gym and save more then 200 dollars a month, and that is riding with traffic and on the side streets. You do nothing but complain in a car and look for ways to entertain yourself in a car, on a bike you just burn calories and drink water. This video proves the point that bike are more efficient, but the drivers simply don't want to get out of their cars and give up the luxury of driving,
In Southern California, if a bike were to beat a car in a commute, our faceless bureacrats would spend another $300M on freeway improvements! The lengths we go to to keep people in their cars here are breathtaking. I've seen over $1 Billion spent in the last 5 years in the tri-county area of the Santa Ana River on freeways. Orange County Transportation Authority is even contemplating using the Santa Ana River bottom as a freeway (it's dry unless it rains most days)!
Thank you Clarence! Some colleagues of mine and I are about to launch a Twin Cities specific multi-media web site focusing on designing streets for people rather than for automobiles. Your work at Streetfilms has inspired us. We hope to become a worthy peer in the Midwest. Best wishes. --Matty

Great ride! I've gone that way many times and I've stopped at that Dunn Bros while navigating road construction on Lake street, myself.
Cool video guys.
