I'm curious if many fans of Cocorosie have ever heard of the band Dead Can Dance...they have a similar aesthetic, DCD is a bit darker than Cocorosie, and their roots lie a lot more in world music/classical music. Cocorosie has a bit more of an "playfulness", both have a real sense of letting the music take a life of it's own, and the general mindset of two artists working to build the pieces, sharing instrumental and vocal duties and so on are all similar. Worth a look if you like this.

@Qaoz She's got one hell of a voice...I never like to undervalue Brendan Perry...he doesn't look like much, but listen to songs like I Am Stretched On Your Grave, American Dreaming, Don't Fade Away and you can see the power there. I always liked that it was just the two of them, other artists rotated through, but their albums were generally passed back and forth and tweaked over and over 'till the sound they wanted was found. Brendan was definitely the more background instrumental guy...

This is the only cocorosie that is "decent", everything after "La maison de mon reve" is pretty terrible with the exception of "Noah's Ark" (which is mediocre at best). Something about their lyrics I find repulsive and uncreative, it's as if their trying to hard to go against the grain.
