I love it when the Beast says "I may be a mutant but Im still Human" Perhaps the X men should keep that in mind before seperating themselves from the rest of humanity on utopia.
@ranchnugget This show was made at a time when Fox was pushing for more censorship in their cartoons. The writers had to follow certain rules, including not letting Spider-Man punch, never saying "die" or similar words, no realistic guns and changing Sinister Six to Insidious Six.
X-Men TAS was made before these policies took effect, and Batman TAS was on a different network/
@MrPlanetvideogame X-men had some of the censorship. For example they had they to say destroy instead of kill... some of the time. I'm not sure exactly how it worked.
This is one of the most power full episode i would what over and over against. I love how the moral of the episode distinguishes the issues between mutants and super hero's of how much of a target they can be towards society. This episode brings an important message of factors of having mutant powers, that they need to know their limitations when having great power, there most become great responsibility.
I sometimes wonder to myself what happened to this exquisite kind of animation from the early 90s, in which the characters were so detailed and actually looked like human beings.
Nowadays animation is rather lame. Flat skin, no shown muscles, heads in weird shapes, etc. Even anime lost that kind of potential.
2D animation's really gone down the toilet now. You compare this animation with, for example, "The Spectacular Spider-Man". There IS no comparison.
@Visonu The question you have raised is a very good one to be considered and it is very serious as well. The cartoons that are on today are horseshit and have no real message/values behind them!. Do yourself and everyone who is reading this a favor and look up Alex Jones you will understand what they are trying to do to children today and it will all make sense!
@o13starsnstripes Look up Alex Jones? LOL I've seen almost all of his documentaries already.
True, it all makes sense, but whenever I make a comment about it, other users shower me with insults and accusations of being a Socialist or Communist (even when they don't know what those truly mean).
Bottomline, we all know what kind of people are in charge of these TV and Film studios, and with the prostitutes in the media on their payroll, they're untouchable.
@Visonu OMG I hate it when people flip out. I apologize for that one. Us infowarriors for the most part in general really are open minded people. Oh and they aren't untouchable
While I agree with you on the animation, there are time I feel where the story of Spectacular Spider-Man is better than the Spider-Man TAS. To not anger the more zealous nostalgic numbnuts, Spectacular for me is the 2nd best Spidey cartoon, after Spidey TAS.
That and I guess I'm not an animation type of guy. Whether it comes to tv shows, movies or videogames, animation and graphics are not my priority. Story is.
@nepomusik True, story is a completely different thing. I mean, Batman TAS had a far superior animation quality to Justice League and Justice League Unlimited, but the stories were on par in quality.
But the point I'm making is that the animators don't put as much quality into animation as they did before.
@Visonu Another thing, animation errors ahppen alot more with modern shows than they did with this. But this is a bad example because it has a shitload of stock footage that isn't even scene specific.
In defense of Spectacular Spider-man, the animations are... well... spectacular.
The fight scenes are heart-pounding and exiting.
Characters do more than wrestle and shoot lasers.
I like this show for nostalgia, but Spectacular Spiderman is better and had more work put into it. If you blow it off simply due to it's art you are making a huge mistake.
Seeing the X-Men roster like that at 1:54 always reminds me of the Street Fighter roster on the back of the "Street Fighter II Movie" VHS Cover. After all, the X-Men did go up against Ryu and the others more than once.
@KudokuMaoh You mean the voice actor? No. The voice was actually none other than Mark Hamill who you may know better as Luke Skywalker from the Star Wars films.
If you mean the character similarities, then yeah sure they're kinda similar.

Hamill used too much of his Joker voice for Hobgoblin, it's like watching Avatar the Last Airbender and mistaking Fire Lord Ozai for Master Eraqus.

Correct. Spectacular was a great successor to the 90's show. Such a shame it was ALSO cancelled on a cliffhanger too...
