Ah, well, I take the quote from the actor Jack Black in the movie School of Rock. He said to one of his young protegees while rehearsing for the big concert, "and right here, you'll take a face melting solo!" or some such. I have young daughters I get to stay hip on pop culture and it's lingo...
yea i get it - i have been teaching myself for sometime cause i havn't found a teacher who will teach without doing grades. i can play by ear i 'm useless at the playing properly side of it
After randomly surfing around YouTube, this is like a glass of ice-cold water splashed in the face, which is then discovered to be divine absinthe as it drips into the mouth.
Wow! This is just incredible! I absolutely love this song and you play it so flawlessly with wonderful dynamics. Also, I love the way your fingers move on the keyboard. You have an amazing style.
I've already had my say on this posting, calling it a "spirited performance", but having seen it several times now, I'll go further--it's first-rate Prokofiev, in spite of a few imperfections. Mr. Harrington, primarily a jazz pianist from what I understand, ought to play more classical music, more Prokofiev.
great!!this is a fantastic performance...You´re right about prokofiev using 6/8 a lot.too bad that the eight sonata isn´t on youtube.(In my opinion,it´s better than the 6 or 7)maybe someone will post it someday...Thanks a lot!
Beautifully facile performance. Somehow, the supple rhythms remind me of your jazz performances. No mechanical Prokofiev here! I look forward to more of your performances!
great great great.. but there is one bad thing you did: you only recorded no 3 out of the 6!!!
please record the entire suite!!!!

you're a great showman, without being vulgar; it's great that you don't cross the line (lang lang, anyone?)
anyway, you play wonderfully.

5 stars - I liked this alot. You seemed to have got the recording just right as the sound isn't hampered by your hands hitting the keys.
