agjovel147, i suuuucked at double bass druming at the beginning, most drummers will probably agree, and it's even worse when you start after you've played single bass for quite a while.
just keep practising, never give up, you'll have a personal breakthrough in technique someday soon, and another day after that, you'll learn, in time, if you practise ;) i almost gave up after like 2 month of crappy double bass beats, couldn't even get 20 beats in a row or my feet would freeze, but now it's easy.
you can get a shell kit from 300 bucks all the way to 10,000 easy...it's just like anything else. It depends greatly. Cymbals are the same way...you could spend 300 for a set of beginner cymbals or 300 for one nice cymbal.
hi! when you started out double bass drumming what did you have to get to such speeds with your feet? could you please share some info and advice on what is needed to be fast and consistant at this? thanks and nice video man!
these are beginner techniques, single strokes, paradidlles, and 8th and 16th notes.incorporated into a brief off the cuff demo, this waS not a planned out solo so yes there are parts that were sloppy, but who cares i dont watch it you do!have a good summer
Sorry man I didn't mean to sound so critical, I was just disappointed I couldn't hear you clearer. I am a pro drummer and you play very well on this video. By the way if you don't have alot of money, check out the new Paiste PST5 cymbals... they are made from the 2002 alloy by automated machines in Germany, instead of by hand in Switzerland, so they can sell them for a very low price, and they are nearly as good as the original 2002's. The 'rock' models would be perfect for you.
HI,Its the terrible recording,i dont use a flanger,id be more then happy to play better cymbals but unfortunately i cant afford them right now.thanks for spending the time to analyze my playing.
Was the flanger really necessary? Or is that just a byproduct of your shitty recording equipment. Also, get some real cymbals like Paiste 2002's because your Zildjian's sound like shit. Other than that a fairly nice job.
Lmfao, lets see you do any better? Lets see your rad fucking recording equipment. Stop trying to act like a fucking guru and accept he is better than you in all ways possible.
How long will it take to get that good at dbl bass if i practice everyday? I've only been playing double for a week.
ps awesome vid man!

AH right. it makes more sense now you have explained it that way.
But i think you will get negative comments like from dj140.
But just saying that, i have noticed you have changed the name of the video.
So maybe it will be less confusing in the future.
Good luck with the teaching!
conjigalo 3 years ago
How is this for beginners? you need to put some lessons on how to improve your double bass skill if it is for noobs.
I suck at double bass, and this didn't help me.
It was just you playing fast. So as constructive criticism, please change the name or something.
conjigalo 3 years ago
ehm just think about it, double bass is never for a beginner, this vid is probs for drummers getting started with doubble bass..

Good stuff but I hate the way your bass drum sounds. It sounds like a bass drum that just got kicked in the balls.

its not neccesary to play with closed hi hat...if he want tochange his left foot to the hat pedal it gives him more options....
