Just discovered your sites & Youtube channel today, Mark, and I'm enjoying them immensely. Keep up the good work.
I'd like to explore more Burmese food. The only Burmese dish that I've had for sure was a sour fish curry on a tour to the Golden Triangle area of Thailand when I was in Chiang Mai. One of the best dishes I've ever had.
@dsc1970 Thanks for checking out my channel, I appreciate it! Yah, I think I remember eating a sour fish curry while I was in Burma as well - really good, but I'm sure they have quite a few different kinds. Thanks again for watching my videos!
1st is Let Phat Tote , i might be wrong but i believe that 2nd dish is called Shan Tofu Salad ( shan tofu is very gentle and softer than regular tofu tote, it has different style n taste ) 3rd is called Nenn Pyar Tote (Flat Egg Noodle Salad) we don't put meat n egg on Khout Swal Tote n we don't use pickled mustard with Nenn Pyar Tote or Khout Swal Tote may be Burmese-Thai Style :)
@amymyatlay Great, I appreciate all this extra information - thanks for sharing. Could be that she switched up some of the dishes in Thailand - I believe she is also Burmese and Nepalese... not fully sure though.
That sweet sauce she is talking about, it's basically soy sauce with added palm sugar; hence syrupy in nature.(ta-ņat=palm sugar). I don't know if you are familiar with that ingredient, but many SEA countries like Indonesia use it in cooking(They called it Keecap Manis there). Tea salad is made with fermented leaves, so not just any. I'm not familiar with dal, but that tofu is made with chickpea flour;you can call it chickpea tofu if you will. :)
@AndrewSmith00000007 Cool, thanks for all this extra input Andrew - great to know. Yes, now that you say that, I do remember eating that sweet soy sauce in Indonesia a lot!
@myomyintaung Hey, thanks for watching. If you click that link below the video you'll get to an article plus a map about the same restaurant. This restaurant is located within Phra Khanong market, not address and not on the street but within the clothing section. Go down Pridi Banomyong street and make a right into the market, weave through the clothes and you should see this. Sorry it doesn't have a real address location. Hope you can find it!
I can't believe they have burmese food in Thailand. I feel so stupid to cancel my trip to Thailand :(

The last one(khao swe thohk) is noodle salad(Khao swe= noodle and thohk=salad). And the sour veggies is not cabbage;it's fermented green mustard. lol
