ok let's see my laptop which is 6 years old has never had a singel fatal error of some sort

it

costet me 400 bucks

then every 2 years i buy new parts for it to make it up to date again. in total i spent about 150 bucks on new parts. and it runs as smootly as a new laptop

so lets count my laptop costet a tolal of 550 bucks

ok so a mac costs you $1000

and you can't buy new parts

so if it is old it you will have to buy a new one for $1000

do the math! a mac is just way too expensive

It's not like a mac uses different parts then a regular PC anymore.

Like a normal PC, a new mac runs on intel processors, from the same families and socket types.

It runs on normal memory types, and has the conventional PCI(-e) lanes.

You only have to pay a 40% margin on every single part ;)

@CasperCee Mac os-es can be run on any regular PC that has an intel Pentium 4 or upwards.

So if you want to be money-efficient and still run OSX, buy regular PC parts for their real value and then buy OSX.

Difference; you spend almost half as much money and still have an equally as stable system.

If I didnt have my PC, and had a Mac, I wouldn't be able to play Fallout 3 - New Vegas, Need For Speed Hot Pursuit, and +80% of all the games available on Steam. + Its MUCH MUCH MUCH --MUCH-- cheaper (PC) and you can upgrade it to better hardware whenever you want. PC is more control.. Mac is... just.. for rich people with no use of computers..

@arvelos76 the only reason why it didn't flop was because of it's blind fanbase, who found out about things that "weren't mac" later (i.e. yes, a 3-cell or 6-cell li-on battery has less uptime then a 9 or 12-cells, especially when you put in hardware that uses more power then previous models).

let's just not get started about their WiFi reception, failing is an understatement.

lol, i like these ads, but I can't help but notice that they are always going on about:

1) crap vista

2) crap virus protection

3) tiny ways that mac is better (eg genius store, time machine, better quality hardware, simpler to start using etc)

i think macs are bettrer, but these adverts seem to just be going on about tiny problems.

ACTUALY, there is a reason people put windows on their macs on a separate partition, Mac OS X is really easy to use, and I love it, plus I'm a total geek, so the unix shell is win :P but when it comes to games, so far, Mac OS X is rather limited, (till the OS X version of steam comes out anyhow...) so people will often dual-boot windows just for that reason, which, in fact, is my case.
