This is one of the first times media insiders, although now former insiders, speak openly about how anyone in media must become establishment to gain access. Access is important for the rating and the ad money. If you don't get an interview with the president you don't get ad money. This 4 minute clip isn't about anything else. Sure, fired people speak badly about the company that fired them, but you know it's also the first time they are able to speak negatively about the company.

If you challenge his premise about the ratings, Nielsen has archives. If you wanna say his own ratings will stay the same, that means you haven't read the counters on their site (gotta be a member). Of all of the MSNBC hosts, Cenk was the hardest on President Obama. Despite good ratings (by MSNBC's paltry standards, anyway) the station brass called him on the carpet and asked him to tone down his rhetoric. Cenk says the pressure came from Washington D.C. and the network dangled money in front of his face to get him to be a good boy. To his credit, he walked. But what does that say about the Obama administration, the Democratic Party, and MSNBC? Nothing good, that's for sure.
