Boy those were the days!! A sight for sore eyes--no annoying cellphones,no ugly SUVs anywhere! Cars were better looking & more detailed, you had better movies, good TV programming, the good ole tokens for the subway which never let you down (compared to having to swipe a stupid Metrocard a million times before going thru the turnstyle - they call that progress!), and, bottomline: that was the REAL New York City , not the f*&% Disneyland it is today. God I miss those days....
@ursa41 I agree. Things have changed. People bumping into each other because they are constantly talking on their cellphones not paying attention where they are walking. The more technology we get the more robotic humans are becoming.
@RetroJenny Well,Jenny, like my father always said, "Everything has limitations." And technology will have its own, and I have a hunch it's going to happen in our lifetime, too. Actually, all it takes is a major meteor shower out in space which can obliterate ALL satellites and, combined with an unstoppable, incurable global mainframe virus, that'll be the end of all hi-tech crap which I couldn't give a rat's ass about (I don't even carry a cell!)...ahh, back to the simple times. LOL
