2)All we see in this world are the movement of the objects. Look at your rist watch, the arms of the rist watch is a moving metal arm. We never see time itself. We see time only as movements in space.
you know when in "painting" sloppyness is praised. eg expressionist. but when one makes a tiny little abreation in "writing" every one is on your case.
It is true that you can build a clock, you can also make one, but you can't make a clock tell you what time it is. Even though the clock in my house has nothing to do with stationary, it always remains stationary. This seems a little strange to me considering that the clock is always running a little fast. Semantics.. a timeless topic indeed.
damn it, cutie...stop playing with yur nose...oh, yeah...semantics.."can you build a 'clock' that doesn't 'tell' time "...that is such a poorly conceived question..semantically...that you never even get yur head head above the edge of the hole you dug for yurself...now cut that out...and have a nice weekend
yup, but I also think when we dig this deep to the intentionality, we see how many of our terms are laden with intentionality, which is a semantic feature but it shows us how we think about the world, the "why" of why something as simple as a clock may require a person to actually read it, intention of the builder and potential aside.
1)your visual is cool.
2)One of my pet-project is the philosophical relativism. In that stance, I must confess, there is no time. (should I elaborate?)
3)To me, defining a term is by making distinctions. Thats how you make a point.

@Israe5l time is like god. u can understand who he is and how he works but never can u see him.

@dishdemon lol
I thought it was otherway around. Time is like a man. U can not understand him and how he works. But you can see him everywhere you see.

a distaste for semantics is a distaste for philosophy.

what does semantics mean please?
LimpLoser 2 years ago
it's the precise meaning of words and phrases, what a word is about, and means.
pyrrho314 2 years ago
to not see the validity of semantics in philosophical exploration seems pretty stupid to me.

Hmm...what about a clock that only displays the time then no one is around to see it?
rhyfelur 2 years ago
fine but wouldn't that "tell time"? And just no one is listening?
pyrrho314 2 years ago
Well, it would display time, but wouldn't "telling" time require a recipient?
Semantics.)
