The female actually looks to be more of a leafbug and the male version a stickbug. I never saw a complete discription of where you got them. Aren't they from the Amazon or were they in a rainforsted area in America? If domesticated I know you can grow them very large. Fasinating collection you have.

@widdybear77 Yeah the male and female look very different. Hence it took various years for biologists to recognise them as the same species(same goes for E. Tiaratum). They are from Malaysia actually. But I got them from a zoo myself. I think they can grow large regardless of wild or in captivity.

You may not live in a place that has poisonous bugs everywhere, but try living in Venezuela or Argentina sometime like many in my family. People aren't "burger king" eating ignorant individuals just because they have a fear of insects. Many animals would react the exact same way if such a thing was crawling on them.
