lol, this game is more difficult to play on a real Master System than on a emulator with the "sprite limit" option disabled, on the actual hardware you have to fight against the flickering bullets and enemies coming at you sometimes being able to see them only when you are already dead.

@Maneater1984 This is the Japanese version played on a Japanese Master System. The Japanese Master System had an FM sound chip built-in.

@Christuserloeser Why did Sega give the Japanese FM whereas we had to put up with the 3 channel fart chip? Seriously I want to know this, why do the Japanese do things like this?

@leerees The American Master System is based on the Mark III which had an optional FM add-on. The Japanese Master System was released later and included the Mark III FM add-on.

Personally I think it has to do with management decisions at Sega of America and Sega of Japan: If SOA wasn't happy with the design of the Mark III they most likely asked SOJ to redesign it for the US market which resulted in the Master System.

Cost might also have been a factor.

Finally someone put Cloud Master on YouTube. This game was awesome, but hard. Looking back on it now, I can see that it made no apologies for how Japanese it was. Flying bowls of cereal?
