Henry was at the form that no other Aus than Dawn Fraser has done i.e. won the 100m gold medal. Henry would have run anyone down. Gian Rooney is a media darling and she has a gold medal - but that was a shocking swim.

in sydney 2000, thomas (Australia) and thompson (USA) raced in the final leg of the 4x200m freestyle relay and thompson won in a hard-fought battle. so this race was sweet revenge for thomas and didnt she humiliate thompson or what? awesome leg by petria!

@wegersfour Why all the excuses? Everyone can come up with some crap excuse. It was the 2004 Olympics, not the 2003 Olympics or the Olympics when Coughlin was sick and and a younger Jenny Thompson would have kicked Petria Thomas butt. Judge the race on its existing merits and the actual result.. The Australians were better at the 2004 Olympics, they won and judging by the way Petria Thomas swam, she would have kicked a foetal Jenny Thompsons butt.

Seems she doesn't want to swim anymore, which is a shame. Same thing happened to Thorpe when he took time off/got injured. Cate Cambell should be able to do the job on steffen I think.
