Our films are designed to be applied to the glass first as their is a molecular reaction between the glass and the glue on the film. The glue is not designed to work when stuck to other films or plastics.. BUT... you can apply a tint over our security window films. We do sell tinted security film as well. Visit our site on the web.
nice... but whats up with the test? for the brick test with the unprotected window he throws the brick... then for the protected window he bangs on it with a brick? Also with the punch test he puts it in the center with the unprotected glass and then with the protected glass he puts it in the lower right hand corner?
A.. does it really matter? Throwing the brick would most likely cause the brick to fly off and hurt someone. (we're not the bad guys). Putting it in the center of unprotected glass makes a more visible impact with totally destroying the glass. ON the corner, we are assured of a uniformed break to the glass. Are you going to buy film Boosted?
Shatter Safe Security Window Films are only to be utilized for bullet resistance (not bullet proofing) on strengthened glass that is at least 1/2 inch thick. If another company states they can stop a bullet on regular car glass, have them stand behind their claim. ( LITERALLY). I bet they back down pretty quick. Regular car glass with ANY film on it will not stop even a .22 calibre from a foot or two away, let alone the standard of 25 feet. Cheers and Happy New Year.
just a tidbit that relates to the situation mentioned. I watched mythbusters and they did a special on the subject of car in water. If your car doors are in working out and you go under water, you will not be able to open the door while water is still rushing into the car. You must wait the cabin to fill all the way up to equalize cabin pressure, so if possible to remain calm, once the car is fully submerged the car door is easy to open. But the best thing to do is open the door immediately.
Are you serious...what if you are injured and you can't open the windows anyways, OR you can't open the door, AND your car is sinking, AND your car is on fire.. AND the cow jumped over the moon, AND the cow ran away with the spoon.. COME ON.. get real
Of course it will. ANY FILM WILL depending on what it is applied to. Ace, 3m, Global, Shatter Safe, Sungard, Hanita... It depends on the glass used. In all tests for bullet resistance, we recommend at least one inch thick glass.
NO FILM will stop a bullet on your regular car glass.
its gonna be hard to get out if you fall in a canal or pond...or when Katrina hits...talking about electric windows.. not roll up or roll down.. for sure your a goner..
Should your vehicle goes into the water, your electrical system will most likely work for 45 seconds or so. It does not just go dead because your battery is still functional. Buzz the windows down, that does not work.. open the door. That does not work, push the glass out from the inside. The film is designed to work from the outside in, not so much from the inside out.
I am in a bad area alone, or with loved ones and/group of thugs attack car, I feel confident that when they are smashing at the glass to get at me and my child, the glass will hold together for long enough that I can escape and prevent serious injury or even death and save the lives of myself and my children.
So if I'm trapped in a burning car and my doors are pinned shut, this saves my life how?? I would be dead because the windows wouldn't break. Nice way to think out a product.
The films are designed to strengthen the glass from out side forces not inside. You are able to kick out glass from inside. IF you are not alone and someone assists you by breaking the windows, they are able to break one of the other windows sooner or later. With enough effort you may be able to get out. Thanks for your comment though.
So what if I'm unconscious and there are people on the scene before the police and fire and they can't get my doors open to rescue me? They have to stand there and watch me burn because they can't break the glass to get me out.

Can this be applied to window that already has tint film on it. Or better yet, do you make tinted safety film?

this is illegal in most states, you cannot shatterproof your side windows in most of the USA for safety reasons.

this product does not make the glass "shatter proof", but Shatter Safe. Given enough time, you will get through from the outside.

What if ur trapped inside the car and the doors do not work? Can one escape from the inside?

That stuff is amazing! Does it offer the same UV protection as regular window films?
markmcso7 4 years ago
The films block up to 99% of the UV! Good deal!
shattersafe 4 years ago
Yes, our regular films will block about 25% of the IR rays.

does this film block heat too?

thats a valid question
what if
people dont understand what protects your car can also be quite dangerous in certain cases
i would like to know i could escape in the event of my doors being jamed shut
athough unlikely it would probably happen to someone with this security stuff on lol
but i know this stuff can be kicked out
but if injured how easy would it be to remove from inside generaly?

The police and firemen have equipment and musclepower to easily break this window.
