hey friend, lol it's me again, I came to show you this watch?v=uQ6JQt2E3w0 4:00 katy perry belted I e with vibrato and tremolo and hold for very long!!! that was amazing, and this watch?v=nDALuiLM0oY 4:30 she belted a c5 with vibrato
watch?v=nDALuiLM0oY and hey friend, watch this, in 4:30 Katy belts a C5 with vibrato, and I think you would like to watch my video, oh and thankyou for the links of her performances, I'll put them all to good use, if you have any link to an amazing performance from katy, please tell me, thankyou!
@DarkDanny44@ElliotBrett9 (2/2) Personally, i love screams in songs. i think they add a nuance, something special and really wild to the song. and DarkDanny44, if you can seriously hit a C#7, good for you because I can't even hit that note screaming, singing or otherwise. which is why i consider it a talent and dont think that a skill like that should be so easily dismissed. sorry if you dont agree, but thats how i see it. anyway, ill be updating this video with more notes and uploading it soon
@DarkDanny44 and @ElliotBrett9 Im sorry you dont see it the way i do. all of the notes above the C6 in C.A. gurls have been verified as such on my guitar. Wikipedia (i know, not the most reliable source, but oh well) says that
"Some composers have employed screaming in avant garde works in the twentieth century, typically in the post-World War II era, as composers began to explore more experimental compositional techniques and nonstandard use of musical instruments (including the voice).(1/2)
@ManuelJmusic i didnt say that it wasnt a C6, im just saying thats the last SINGING note. also ive got nothing against screaming, its just that screaming doesnt require any vocal ability really so it shouldnt be in a voal range video. apart from tahat its good though :)
@ManuelJmusic i dont think u understood me either and seriously im not trying to be bitchy, i totally agree that screaming that high is hard, and that it really adds something to the song, but i just dont think it should really be put in a vocal range video thats to do with singing THATS ALL, because being able to scream high doesnt mean you can sing high
@ElliotBrett9 how can't Katy hit high notes if her voice is naturally in a higher scale? christina also scream, nobody complains, and she's one of the best singer in the world
hey, please answer, do you know the link for that ur so gay performance, she is using a black outfit, it's in 00:33 o please answer she's so good there
Could you link me to the C6 from California Gurls pretty please? I've been searching for forever and I've found like 3 other C6s, just not this particular one lol.
@solariumm1 yeah ill try and send it soon, please send me those other 3 C6's too please, hey could you help me out? i think she hits maybe a Bb6 at the end of the E5/C5 but im not sure and fuckingbrill said it sounded like an F#7 and id like your opinion, please play it on your piano and see /watch?v=13s1qQiY6sE
I think she has a great set of pipes but I believe her technique isn't good or good enough. With a good voice teacher I think she can be a great singer. And any note you can hit is part of your vocal range even if it's a scream. You cannot scream a note that is not part of your range. You can train your voice to full harness your capacity to sing those notes but regardless it is still part of your vocal range.
@KatyTheQueenPop I'm Katy Perry's fan, but please don't down your level to the level of some fans of gaga, that's why they don't leave katy alone, and everyone is beautiful their own way...
@KatyTheQueenPop I'm not sure of that, gaga hits MORE NOTES she has a voice of 4 octaves, and katy screams in a song of a different artist, Gaga dosn't cover anything if katy and guess what is because she sucks, and katy uses too much make up even being so pretty, and theres more, gaga hits notes like a2 and Bb5 katy doesn't know what does that means
@cynnthemanevolant be mistaken for 5th octave notes. if you don't believe me, play it for yourself on a guitar/piano and you'll hear its correct. i assume you play something since you seem to have all of this musical knowledge.
@ManuelJmusic i don't play an instrument, i sing. just because other scream while singing doesn't mean that it's considered part of your vocal range. Vocal range within singing is different than it is in the other areas of vocal sciences. While the broadest definition of vocal range is simply the span from the lowest to the highest note a particular voice can produce, this broad definition is often not what is meant when "vocal range" is discussed in the context of singing.
@cynnthemanevolant personally, i think screams are "musically useful". for instance, i think they can add a nuance, something special to a song, really make it sound wild you know? like i said, in my opinion i think they are pretty cool, something to be appreciated, but if you disagree oh well.
her range is no where near 3 octaves 5 notes, for a note to count towards your range you need to be able to sing all of the notes up to it, your range is one block of usable notes and even if she could use whistle register and hit a c7 (which in this video she doesn't use whistle register once and her "c7's" are simply screams) there isn't a single note in the sixth octave that she's actually singing in this video so even if it were a real note is wouldn't count as part of her range.
@cynnthemanevolant i disagree. i can play a C7 on my guitar at the same time katy hits it and i can hear its the same note. even though it is a scream, she hits the note. tons of people, like me for example, couldn't hit that note screaming, singing or otherwise because i dont have the ability to go that high. But, katy does and i don't think its an ability that should be so easily dismissed. she hits these notes (along with the C6s and D6) with her voice, so it counts as part of her vocal range
@ManuelJmusic the pitch at which you can make noises with your vocal cords isn't your range, if that were the case than the vast majority of girls in the world could easily hit g5's like they were nothing. You have to be able to hold and sing a note. Im not dismissing her scream as being high pitch, but i am dismissing it as part of her range, as it's simply not. And the C6 and D6 are listed incorrectly they're 5th octave notes. Check out some of the whistle register video's online and compare.
@cynnthemanevolant again, i disagree. the beatles, the clash, the runaways, janelle monae, janis joplin, grace potter; there are tons of artists/bands who scream in their songs, i dont see the big deal. also, the first sentence you wrote, about pitches and noises made with your vocal chords, sounds exactly like what a vocal range is to me, an analysis of the lowest and highest notes made with the voice. when katy says poisin, she hits C5, then goes up to D6, so i dont see how these notes could
@ManuelJmusic I'm sure. I've verified this with a piano. I'm not sure if it's part of her vocal range, but I can hear her whistle notes (like C7) are connected. She can slide from chest to whistle pretty good, but I haven't heard if she can slide from head voice to whistle.
@ManuelJmusic I checked it with piano (just emulator on computer, so it couldn't play off key. I'm pretty sure the highest she peaked in this slide is a F#7 :P I'm just not sure if it might be counted to vocal range.
@dkwon98 just my opinion though :)))) tip to all singers, Katy too... dont be like gaga and do drugs... it will ruin ur voice. its my opinion so dont get so riled up about it like most gaga fans do :P
@dkwon98 kid, she can sing, and surely she can sing way better than lady caca. she hit notes in this video that caca herself hasn't hit before live, for example, that C6 at 4:57...and also that C5 at 4:42 is really strong and shows she can sing. Normally people like Xtina, who herself beats Caca by a long shot, hits stuff like C5 and C6 all the time. Gaga would have been able to do that... if she hadnt done drugs fail! XD Katy is also obviously more talented...she plays guitar, piano, and sings.
@7trueamerican Gaga is a contralto and she can sing fucking good low notes like E3, lowest sand note is a D3 and I guess sher limit is even lower. Katy's low register is just a whisper, so here Gaga wins. Nowadays Gaga she can belt up to E5, sustain C5, C#5, D5 and i think even higher. When she was younger she were able to sustain F5. I like Katy, but it's poor and sad listening her attempting to sing low notes by wispering and struggling with high notes. She needs vocal technique.
@fuckingbrill yes all those low notes were SO a whisper even though you can clearly hear them XDin Not Like the Movies she goes extremely low yea lol um Katy's high note, C6, was an attempt? Please that was freaking awesome and better than anything caca ever did XDDDDD lol fail. Shes obviously the better singer here... shes never had much vocal training before and she has been singing since she was nine. Katy wins with higher and lower notes... ... besides Katy herself is a contralto.
@7trueamerican Hahahah you must be joking. Are you so idiot or just deaf? Check Gaga's E3 at 1:38 here watch?v=PR18IIEwotk , then compare it with Katy's. Contralto? LMFAO, so light, thin voice with fucking weak and airy low register contralto? I'm dying. Katy could be goot at upper notes with better technique. Gaga is more comfortable and better sounds at low notes. So it's hard to compare them. But it's obvious Gaga is better singer.
@fuckingbrill No its obvious Katy is the better singer... again did you not see that C5? thats higher than gaga and not once did she crack lol ur the deaf one here XDDDDD and i bet that C6 was a fail too? it was more of a trill in which some of those notes were actually higher. lol go to school and learn about music kid XDDDDD her lower notes arent always the best but Not Like the Movies shows off her lower register. and honestly its pretty damn good. learn what the word vocals means. k?
@fuckingbrill :P Katy's never had much vocal training but she has a technique... thing is shes not consistent with her voice. anyways, of course even though i do think gaga is talented, and katys my favorite singer and i think shes more talented, neither have the amazing voice of one of my favorite vocalists, Christina Freaking Aguilera <3333 Now she can surely sing, but I hate it when caca fans attack her saying she cant sing -.-
@solariumm1 Just because the standard of pop music has dropped doesn't mean the standards of being a great singer has dropped. I still think she's overrated. If you listen to soul music you'll see that Katy is very bland compared to the great voices in that genre.
@Tinewashere lol well Katy doesn't sing soul music & she isn't trained to do so. She's very good by pop-music standards and lacking vibrato above E5 doesn't automatically make you a bad singer lol. It just means you're not a high belter? Celine Dion barely even has a vibrato at all, yet she's one of the greatest singers of all time. And considering Katy has the tone of a contralto and the tessitura of a low-mezzo, the fact that she can get up to G5 so effortlessly is impressive in itself imo.
@solariumm1 Check your fact, the first album she put out was gospel. Also I never said it wasn't impressive that she could hit those notes, all I'm saying is that it isn't good to belt out those notes if you haven't mastered them. It's not good for the voice, and you shouldn't do it just for show.
Also Celine Dion is vastly overrated. Yes, she's a good singer, as is Katy Perry, but they are not the greatest voices in pop music.
That was one of the most horrible G5s ever I'm sorry it's just awful. I do like Bb4-E5. Im also mad that as a contralto her lower register isn't that strong. Eb5-F#5 falsetto was nice and I actually kinda like her whistles even though their screams. Overall nice video
omg but her sustained E5 at 3:23 is SO amazing. Gaga, Rihanna, Ke$ha, etc, could neva. and sorry for commenting so many times but i'm just so in love with her voice lmfao.
that's screams are called whistle? omg i didn't know it :)) thx

I love her!! She has great potential to be a great vocalist, she just needs the training.

i loved it, if she trains her voice a bit more, she could be one of the best.

That was one of the most horrible G5s ever I'm sorry it's just awful. I do like Bb4-E5. Im also mad that as a contralto her lower register isn't that strong. Eb5-F#5 falsetto was nice and I actually kinda like her whistles even though their screams. Overall nice video

@ladysasha90 Gaga's G5 was worse than Katy's G5 at 3:22 imo lol.

@solariumm1 Katy still surprised the hell out of me in this video, though. I wish she'd get training, because she has plenty of stuff to work with.

@mellynumerounoo I agree so much! Her lower register needs huge help though, i've heard electric fans produce less air...

her G5s are a bit painful tbh but her runs are ridiculous! none of her peers can do such agile riffs imo.
