  • Dear Orvis. How about you upload a proper quality version of this video?

  • Why are ya saying ''Ho Ho'' ? ...

  • Thanks for posting this video. I've been fly fishing for about a month now and have been having problems shooting my line. This video explains how to do it in a clear and concise manner. The very next day I went to try to shoot my line and it worked on the very first cast! Thanks again!!!

  • these Vids are awwesome. Ive always wanted to learn to fly fish but only recently started to learn. these vids help form a GREAT foundation for my future flyfishing ;)

  • Great vid I have a question though. Do you do the shooting line on the back stroke or front? both maybe??

  • thanks this video helped so much i live near a river and every day i get trout jumping out about 30 feet in front and i cant cast it out so this helped heaps thanks the only critism i have is maybe next time u make a ''series'' try labelling them like long distance casting apart from part1,2,3,4,5 etc thanks

  • hoo hoo, i invented fly fishing robin, tell em fred!

  • Thanks for this and #3 specifically. I never learned how to cast from a pro, I learned it on my own. I do pretty well, but your videos showed me some mistakes I've been making. Thanks again!

  • has anyone noticed he starts to sound pissed off?

  • haha... 1:41, "It's a friction free environment."

  • I was like "why is that funny . . . ?"

    hah!

  • L2Get a haircut

  • thank you so much for that great video!! it does clear alot of things up!!!

  • who cares about all of you with an "I'm cooler than thou" attitude. Started flyfishing this summer, used these vids and others to learn. Adapted to my own "moves" now I can't stop flyfishing, catching stuff when no one else is fishing anymore. So thanx for the pointers Boonie!

  • Thanks rtch77. This is the whole reason I posted the vids in the first place. It's not meant to be a bible, just a way to introduce new people to the sport.

  • time has passed, now I only pick up a regular fishing rod on occasion. Nice to be out, interesting in strong wind , also weed choked lakes are open for business

  • thanx boonie your video help me out it taught me the basic fundamentals and from there i developed my owntechinque and of course i caught many of trout caught me a 23 inch brookie on a fly rod that was fun

  • @booniecat exactly! im loving it. im planning on starting to fly fish just the way the casting and all the flowing movement gets me :D

  • he is just using it as an example to show you how to shoot 10 feet of line

  • Who do you think you are fooling, thats not shooting 10 feet of line. Its hardly casting at all.

  • this video can help a lot of new commers to the sport, and it would be great to show some appreciation. after all it is a lesson and most likely for begginers. if you think you can do a better job shut up and go ahead and do. Do a thirty feet cast. Id like to see that.

  • ya pte, if u have a better technique than this one why dont you post a vid of it? wait you probably couldnt do that due to the fact your looking at fly casting lessons on YOUTUBE...

  • This man has a lot of great tips to anyone who wants to learn.

  • tanks 4 all d tips im gonna start fly fishing soon

  • Thanks for posting these vids. I'm gonna give this a shot!

  • thats a nice stream

  • bad ass.

  • Not bad, but I dont believe he is casting a full head.
