Don Mendel is no victim; he knew full well what he was doing when he joined your campaign. He was my consoler and as a former student I feel betrayed because when he is using his experience as a consoler to lobby for question one he could have used me to encourage his arguments. I cannot believe that a councillor of children can publicly show contempt for 5 to 15 percent of his students and then expect not to be called out on it. The idea is absurd. He should remain silent on such opinions so as to facilitate the equal treatment of children under his care - by all means keep his opinions, but spare kids the pain of being marginalised by the mass opinion of the vulgar at school.

All he did is stand up for marriage. His school has a lesbian counselor. She is an advisor to the GLSEN. Students can choose. GLSEN is the new bully in some schools today. Who is going to stand up for the other students ?

In high school I had an assigned guidance counselor I realize that, that may not be how it's handled at that school, but I'm just saying...this man also CHOSE to appear in this ad he should have thought about the consequences.

- there would be no gay sex in nature, but there is.

There are over 132,000 kids in foster care up for adoption EACH YEAR. That doesn't even count private adoption. Are you saying that NONE of them will ever be able to bond with their forever families? You are saying cruel and heartless words to those children. Thank God, your belief is not fact.

Clearly, you don't know much about science, or humanity. Yes, I know at birth babies look at their mothers. I know about the bonding process. But human bonding is not limited to that experience.

"REAL" mother or father does not always mean "biological". The real one is who helps with homework, listens, disciplines, teaches responsibility, goes to all the games or concerts, drives to practice, etc.

As a high school guidance counselor, I would not want students to feel that my personal opinions would influence advice or my ability to truely help students.

This man should have seriously thought about how his actions would reflect upon his perceived ability to best perform his duties.

If a food service worker appeared in an ad to eliminate a health code, I would have serious doubts in the ability of said worker to provide safe food to eat.

What is truly disturbing is that the school counselor, who is supposed to be unbiased so that his students feel safe to talk with him, would go on record saying he doesn't accept ALL his students for who they are, should any of them be gay. He gives that message clearly when he says he is against gays getting married...he doesn't support ALL of them finding the one person they love and committing to a lifelong relationship called marriage. He created a hostile environment for them.

He has seen first hand the struggle of students with same sex parents and knows a lot more than you think. Some lesbian think they can be a male,a husband and a wife, and vice versa.

I doubt he knows all that much. He is against same sex couples and parents. If he is willing to so publicly say so, I can't imagine what he's said to those kids in private. If he was supportive and saw the families as equal value, that would have helped the kids. he has probably done more damage than we will know.

It's more disturbing that the women whole files a complaint against this man is employed by the HUSBAND of the teacher who says no on 1 in a commercial from the same school.
