Panoman! You lucky guy. Mine gives me a Certificate Error. I'm thinking about hacking my phone in order to install anything. Have you hacked the latest firmware?
That's what I'm talking about. I had a 6600; now I have an N80. Great phones, but I'm tired of getting, 'Memory low. Close some applications'. The whole point of a smartphone is multitasking. I'm amazed that you can run the net, video, podcasting, etc and carry it off w/ room to spare. Great video. I'm sold.
Hmmm.... Not really, no. Well, I can't say from my own experience with a 16gb but countless reviews state that the phone works fine with one, and mine works fine with an 8gb. Besides, I doubt a more-than-capable phone like this one wouldn't perform well because of that.
from where do you open the last menu that shows all the "running behind" programs and the memory remaining? plz answer i just got this phone and i want to see it myself!!!
That's the Handy Taskman application that replaces the standard Symbian Task Menu. Pretty useful for keeping track of your phone's RAM and memory availability in your phone memory/memory card. I have it on my E61i and E70(which is a sour reminder of how underpowered these two phones are...).
This is deffo my next phone i have the n95 8gb at the mo and im on my third one! they break so easy! the n82 looks solid! orange will give me the choice of another phone if it breaks this time. whats the battery life like btw?
how do you think this phone comparing with HTC pocketPC?
coz I have the HTC and i'm kind of thinking to change it with this one. But, I'm afraid that there will be big different between them. I know the pretty thing in this phone is the camera, and it has radio FM.
but, I don't know about the internet browsing and the other stuff.
it depends what u use ur phone for, obviously htc or any other phone can't replace a computer( atleast not for me ) but its always nice to have a good camera phone in your pocket all the time and well gps is a plus too i have a htc touch aswell but it didn;t impress me very much so back to nokias now. easy to use unlike those fancy touch screens i hate it when i give my htc to my old man and he can't even use it huh
okay.. thankyou for that.. unfortuantlly, i only speak in english, so if you want a reply, then i strongly advise you to use the english language or i dont understand a shit your talking about lol, sorry, no offence,. its just me././.........
Well, I have Nokia 5500 for about a year now. Of course, it's quite weak compared to new ones, but it's still Symbian :) Opera Mini runs reasonably fast there.
not sure about black version, ive not seen one in the flesh.. i expect its exactly the same, just different color.. nokia do it often just for a marketing trick to sell a few more million units
what you did was normal , your phone was empty . try filling it with 8 gigs worth of videos, music and pictures and you will know what nokia phones are made of !
ps i tried that myself and sold my n95 8gb after 1 week of misery
n82 has 128mb of SDRAM, and around 90mb usable memory for the user after bootup.. and yes, this more than plenty for a device with this size CPU in ;)
You now you're meant to press options-kill for those last few things. Then we would have seen the ram go above 80 :) nice video though :) and btw was that on a laptop monitor? cos i saw a keydoard in the foreground :)
It's based on the fact that the theoretical maximum size of microSDHC cards are 2048GB. As N82 supports microSDHC, it would, in theory, support up to 2TB, however, as it looks right now, the maximum size will be 32GB, which N82 will support too.
-I never said 32GB isn't enough. :)Was just explaining the whole 2TB thing! =)
To me 8GB is more than enough, space for all my favorite music, some pictures and movies/recordings. Can't see what I'd want more for, which is why I'm going with a N95 8GB. Shame about the USB-transfer speed though.
Yes... The fastest i got was 600kb/s moving up a movie. But at least it has a mini usb port. All my, and my friends' digital cameras have mini-usb cables, so wherever i go we can always connect the N95 to a pc :) This is the only reason i dont like those new phones with micro-usb ...
What I consider the most is its speed- Opening the device , running apps and particuly, opening SMS, for I got a N70, which could be perfect with a 5M camera and faster speed----took me 10s to open a SMS!!!!!!
and 1 more thing. does it have a sleep mode like the n73? cuz i cant really find it. and with the date n time running on the background 24/7.. the battery's not gona last me long
install a taskman applications, in this video was before the release of the Jbak taskman (freeware) so i was using handy taskman in this video, but there are a number of different applications you can use to view the phones ram
no, with all this application running in backround on phones that dont have ODP enabled (on demand paging) phone will slow down quite significantly, and most cases even crash, causing all open and running applicaiton to crash with it..
ODP is a great, amazing thing which is now avaialble in nokia s60 symbian smartphones ;)
