Actually Shazam I find that swapping white for female, and black for male reveals their big0try much better. Example of a standard editorial with said swapping:

Though I do for the most part agree with your assessment of feminism and feminist principles, I slightly disagree with your description of radical feminism. Most radical feminists fight for and argue for the need to abolish patriarchal gender structures, but do not necessarily think that it is the primary structure of oppression upon which all other modes of oppression have been based.

The distinguishing factor between liberal and radical feminists is that liberal feminists seek to work within preexisting societal structures, while radical feminists believe that patriarchy is inherent within those structures and therefore argue that we need to create entirely new structures to replace the old ones (whether that is a change in language or the meaning of it (Mary Daly) etc.)

bonnie klein (naomis mom) was a radical feminist who worked on an anti-porn film for cbc. at the time, the canadian broadcast co was funding projects by womyn but it was scrapped after the conservative government was elected. i remember my first thought was, why didn't they use the money to create a studio instead of films? in other words, why not buy the means of production rather than be dependent on continual gov aid?..

But I was wondering how radical feminists intend to eradicate the existing structures (patriarchy) that impede their over all mission. Also, would you say that materialist feminist would ok gay mariages (with gender being social construct)? By a former student.

I think radical feminists seek to build a parallel set of separatist social structures that can compete with patriarchy's sociocultural power. I'm not sure about economic power. An example of this strategy might be Mary Daly's courses at Boston College, where she denied admission to male students.

I think the most logically consistent materialist position on gay marriage is anticipated by Engels, who argued against "straight" marriage. "Marriage" as an institution is designed to protect patriarchy and patrimonial inheritance rights, and it inhibits free association. If no "marriage" of this sort was legally privileged, people could form associations for useful functions such as mutual support, child-raising, etc.
