  • goes to show it's the player not the instrument that makes good music!

  • @TheBfoss1 That's true, but a good instrument makes everything easier.

  • A cheapo mandolin, but so what? Do you really want a £1000 instrument and be afraid to take it to the session for fear of it getting scratched? Love the "twiddly bits" or whatever they're called! I always think when playing standing up, it's a great help to have your instrument properly supported, so the little "fluffed" bits are reduced. Try one of those strings with a hook , put it round yer neck and catch the hook in the sound-hole. Instead of good, sound fantastic!

  • Thanks for your kind comments. I have one of those cords but I rarely play stand up, I'm a lazy man lol

  • Nicely played. It is so refreshing to hear something that's not played at at a million miles an hour.

  • @TitusOates

Yea lol im teaching myself because I cant afford lessons but every vid I watch is played with the speed of a rocket and I simply cant follow that as a rookie. Love this

  • I think I have exactly that mandolin-but I'm not handling it quite as well as yourself yet!!

  • very nice, good work! i posted a video playing this tune too, i'd appreciate if you have a look ;-)

  • Thanks for your comments. I'll see your rendition of the tune ;-)

  • Very nice :)

Does this song have lyrics and if so where can I see or hear them?

  • Genuinely tho...this is a very nice rendition...I love hearing trad songs played by one instrument and this is a great example!Keep it up!

  • Is that one of those cheap Asian mandolins?..You could probably get somethin better than that.

  • Yes, it is. I'm sure that any other mandolin would be better than this one LOL

  • ¡Muchas gracias! :-)

  • A mi tambien!

    es meu delicada y fluido!

  • Me gusto much, tu estilo, bravo!

  • Excellent, keep it up! :)
