Joshua, awesome comment. I commend you for standing up and speaking out. We have done the same in several cities where I live and, hopefully, have made an impact, if not on the government officials, the public listening. You have made a a great impression on at least some people.

Well as a Christian I always find it funny for people to still be doing a prayer before things and after that prayer all manner of hell ensues! Its funny to me, but I do agree that a moment of silence is better because it allows anyone and everyone to use that moment how they see fit. And I mean even if I wanted prayer before something I wouldn't want someone else praying for things I didn't want to get done. So stop trying to put God into things you've already taken him out of.
What made this even more important is Joshua suggests that the city goes back to what it always did. A moment of silence. There is no reason to add prayer where there was none. If it isn't broke, don't fix it.
