Is this leader class the same as the Takara Masterpiece? There is a similar Starscream which I've seen referred to as Masterpiece.

i've seen the side-by-side comparison pics. i think the figures are exactly the same with different paint apps. one is by Hasbro, the other is by Takara.

Finally got mine Franz! Pretty cool! The transformation is tough, no kidding that made it level 4. I got a really hard time putting back his head from jet to bot mode. I have to wedge the pointed part of a bic ballpen plastic cap on the part that's stuck to release his head. At least the plastic ballpen cap is soft plastic. I wouldn't recommend shoving metal like a screwdriver or wood toothpicks in him or that'll give him scratches on his skin. Great toy! I'm proud he's now in my collection.

hes an awsome toy prob one of the best fs ever i allways have issues with the back neck plate tyring to lift it up in jet mode when transforming back to bot -i have to get a small screwdriver every time

it happened to me, too, the first time i tried to transform it. i just tried transforming it over and over, till i figured out how to fit the arms in the compartment they're supposed to go in. it just take a little bit of fidgeting to get it right

There is something inherently wrong with a firing launcher which folds out from between the legs. At least it's no G1 Scattershot.

Anyway, had the chance to have him in hand at the TF Conversions convention and was very impressed, though the voice manages to be even more annoying then his G1 self.
