@ejpollo, you're right. against spain we couldn't get our defense together at all. we looked like amateurs with as much space as we gave them and we couldn't stop them from shaping around us. on top of that, we weren't even playing the full first line of spain as we would in a world cup match. the match with argentina was actually a relief to watch. it's just a shame we didn't play spain first then argentina. i'm actually more worried about us now.

The last time I was in Argentina, I asked my father and his friend what they thought about the US National team. This was about 8 years ago, and I expected them to laugh at me, but they didn't. @Issj5broly1 well what do 1990, 1998, and 2006 have in common? they were all in Europe(which the U.S dont do well in). 2014 is in Brazil so we're not screwed

Onyewu is very talented. He could have been one of the greatest CB in Europe. To bad he had that injury that kept him back for some time. Watch out for US players in the near future. The guys over there are making some serious work and soon we'll see more talented players in European championships, like Juan Agudelo.

1998 U.S fails to win a game
2002 U.S makes a good run into the quarter finals
2006 U.S fails to win a game
2010 U.S comes in first in their group and makes it to round of 16

1990- IN Europe: 0 wins
1994- OUTSIDE Europe: Round of 16, fall to eventual champions.
1998- IN Europe: 0 wins
2002- OUTSIDE Europe: Historic quarter finals appearance.
2006- IN Europe: Refs screw us over vs Italy & Ghana, 0 wins.
2010- OUTSIDE Europe: Refs screw us over and we still overcome expectations.
2014- OUTSIDE EUROPE!!!!!!!! So we will make it at least to the round of 16. Don't say it's a coincidence because it's not.

U-20 national selection didnt even make it to the world cup,by 2014 donovan,dempsey,jones will be in their 30's,see all the evidence??? U.S soccer could be headed for a disaster,the best thing to do is to look for some new young talent, we got 3 years to prepare.

For those comparing Tim Howard to Casillas, all you need to do is look at the defenders both keepers have in front of them. Tim Howard plays with average defenders for both Everton and USA. Casillas is only good because of his defenders for both Real Madrid and Spain.

This Argentina was weak they only had Messi and Di maria goal makers like Teves or Highuain was missing not to mention when Messi was around 16-19 he was much better in Argentina then now
but in Barca he is way better I could easily see that he couldn't really relate well with the team not as well as with Barca

The last time I was in Argentina, I asked my father and his friend what they thought about the US National team. This was about 8 years ago, and I expected them to laugh at me, but they didn't. They both agreed that it would only be a matter of time before the US would catch up, because they have the money, the spirit, and the limitless selection of players (i.e. all different heights, body types, nationalities, etc).
Great game USA. And Messi, you are truely magical and a pleasure to watch.

im Mexican i think the U.S and Mexico rivalry is good for the progress of both teams just look at concacaf, it used to be mediocre and now it has progressed to a point where Mexico has more victories over all south american teams except Argentina although U.S is not there yet its not too far behind we just need to take the Copa America and Libertadores more seriously cause there pretty much the americas Champions and Euro Cup but at this point Concacaf is not a push over like it was before..
