  • Perfection

  • I cannot do anything but echo the comments on here.. Outstanding!! There was no one like Oswald on the dobro.. He could send chills down my spine! Great job

  • pretty sweet! My name is mike webb and i lived in a city called wabash and my best friend lives across the street from Cannonball dirt track.

  • Sooooo iconic(sound of that particular dobro)!!!

  • Wow. That is so neat Mike. Let me ask something else about Oz. Poor guy obviously had some medical issues toward the end of his life. Whatever it was affected his jaw area. Had he gone through some type of surgery? What was the dear old soul going through? I just loved his style and personality and hope to pick up a Gold Tone (w/Beard parts) and start learning my self. Wabash Cannonball in the Oz style is what I want to learn first.

  • He had cancer surgery back in 1991 and although cancer free he had quite a few complications from the surgery itself.

  • Mike, you sound just like Oz. Did he teach you personally (seems like you had mentioned that in other video)? I'll bet he was a a great guy.

  • @andynovak yes he did Andy. I spent a lot of happy times with him. He was one of kind.

  • that was great but i hope that dress ain't for you lol

  • lol , that belonged to Wilma Lee Cooper who I worked for on the Grand Ole Opry a long time. I'm a collector. Thanks

  • Hey Mike:

  • That's great! Like to hear Mike pick one on Brother Oswald's banjo too.

  • It is such a pleasure to know that younger poele are keeping up this traditional sound. Loved the videos with Charlie Collins. Remember so well seeing Charlie, Roy, and the band do this tune live at the Opry many times thourghout my life.
