crossbows are for sissys. there easier to shoot and aim. but you gain instinctual shooting with a bow. Crosssbow is aim and shoot and a bow is instinct after a while

@nadrous01 WOW i have a Bear recurve and a Mathews Z7 extreme..its not easy when u shoot at 80 yards,and with compounds you have to know your range and b able to see your target,pin,and peep if you use a peep..with a recurve all u need to see is your target if you shoot instinctive,,and you dont need to know the range..bcuz its instinctive..there is less stress and much less to worry about. So you might not b able to shoot as far,or have sights,but that doesnt make a compound bow easier!

good vid but have to worry a little about the penitration If i only had about 6" of penitration from my arrow then I would look into that, it was a hard hit and shoot have gotten more. so I would look into eighter sharpening the broadheads or changing them. I also wonder why people who hunt public land like my brother do that 30 minutes of wait when u know that their are assholes out that will steal the deer. I only give enought time for me to get my gear packed up. I havent lost one yet.

@samstterhamstteer you dont "need" feathers for a traditional bow. its a matter of preference like what cover scent to use or anything else...my dad has shot a recurve for 25 years and always used vanes...and placed 3rd in the state in arkansas mens open...so yea vanes work in a recurve.
making recurve bows are fun. I made a bow with a hard rock maple core (limbs) and a purpleheart (limb veneer) and an oak handle and i just love it! it's based off of shakespears wonderbow.
damn this reminds me of when i went hunting i hit a buck once in the neck and it had barely turned and started to run and i got one shot in the ass and then i got it in the lift side near the shoulder when it ran left and it was about 30 meters to the right and it dropped like a rock...i got the footage but my parents wont let me upload it because i cant put my picture on YT untill im older...

Did you ever find it? Awesome video and the advice on the food sources is dead on, novice hunters need to know why an area is "hot" only part of the season. just cause they're here this week don't mean they will be next week, hunting pressurea also has a huge influence on public land. I'm a public land hunter mostly myself and you definitely need to know when a certain area will be hot or you waste a lot of time.
I shot a buck the other day with my recurve and it took me about an hour to find it. Its definitely frustrating but worth it none the less. I almost gave up because the rain washed off the blood trail but on my last circle i happened to run across him. good luck bud
