thanks for posting, no one every absorbs there mortality till its there own, human nature, and the young, we have a world of hurt coming. rock on forever.
@warpathHB You are right, as far as I am concerned, he is the "Master"!!!!! No other voice like that back in the 70's. This man should be inducted into the 'ROCK & ROLL HALL OF FAME", without a doubt!!!!!
I certainly hope you all agree with me, but I am 55yrs old and absoutely love FOREIGNER. There will never be another LOU GRAMM. I nominate LOU GRAMM to the "ROCK N ROLL HALL OF FAME. He is spectacular!!!
Lou was much older than most of his 70s rock band contemporaries. He's 7-8 years removed from Jagger/McCartney's generation. He just got a late start is all. Secondly~ Any of you shit talkers wanna tell me how you had a Garbanzo-sized brain tumor pulled out of your head, and can still get up on stage and have hundreds of people pay to watch you belt it out, feel free to msg me anytime. I know by that by 10 years end, that box will still be empty. And Lou will still be fucking rocking at 71.
Talent is talent. He is one of the best rock and roll voices ever. He is a survivor..an old guy yes, but that's what life is about...getting old..and doing what you love for as long as you can...and he's still got the voice. Rock on.
@StudEmonkey What's with the Bon Scott knock? AC/DC is my favorite band and Bon was great at what he did, as was Lou. I would love to sound like Bon Scott. No need to make it sound like it was a bad thing to be compared to Bon.
Wow, is that really him? First, I thought that with his illness, he was done singing. Great to see that the ladies still love him, and yes, what an AWESOME voice. I'm an old rocker.....he's one of the best of all time....
@indianastan A couple of months, when I saw this video the first time, I thought the same, but now I think why should he retire ? Legends don't need to, and he lives for the music. I say let him sing and enjoy it ! We will all get to that age.
Say what you will, people, this man is AMAZING! You don't know how hard it is to recover as he has and still take the stage and blow away a crowd of happy people like this. He shows enormous courage. But more than that, he shows that his voice and spirit are still completely intact and strong. The lower tuning is only to save the voice over a long tour. I have known many great artists who did this. I am more than sure from listening to him that he still could sing in the original key. Yes!
What you talkin about yaimavol. The entire song IS a conversation. He's recanting his childhood. I think he did great here. They only tuned him down a semitone or two. And who doesn't tune down at his age?
Every time I watch this I am no longer blue. I saw Lou back in 77? at a stadium concert as one of the opening bands for then HUGE Peter Frampton at the Oakland Stadium in front of 65K + and knew that he was special. And to see that oh so lovely lady giving him props gives me hope.
Sorry, folks, I'm a huge LG fan, but it's time for him to retire. He's not really signing the song -- he's sort of talking and trilling his way through it. He can retire knowing he was one of the greats, and that's more than most people can say.
Wow! I was expecting something really bad after some of the crap I've heard about how he's lost it! He only sings this 1/2 step lower than his original and he still has that killer tone! He's still one of the best rock singers to me!
Wow! I was expecting something really bad after some of the crap I've heard about he's lost it! He only sings this 1/2 step lower than his original and he still has that killer tone! He's still one of the best rock singers to me!
although the years have aged and the times have changed, the music from this classic rocker will live for ever. i would have given anything to see Lou live in action. those who have..just be thankful you have seen a legend.
He's such an amazing singer ... always was and always will be. He has to be one of the greatest singers in the past few decades and has such a wonderful voice. Lucky woman for being able to get up there on stage with him and give him a hug. As someone else here has commented, loads of women would give their eye teeth to have been so lucky ! ! !
@61SGman In ,97 Lou was diagnosed with a brain tumor. After a grueling surgery to remove it, he was put on a recovery program that included steroids, which affected his weight, stamina and voice. He worked very hard to get back to his musical career and still suffers some affects from his ordeal such as shortness of breath. He's a true hero and he still Rocks!!!
lou never ceases to amaze me at how he came back after a horrible illness. im 17 and know who he is and love his work. every night after work on the way home i have midnight blue playin on my ipod to my radio cassette. keep rockin' lou!
STOP!!!! Do you people out there realize what a gift that YouTube has given us of a certain age? Some things are just so priceless! And this is one of them.

i dont know what the dissers are listening to - because this is the BEST live version of this song on YouTube - regardless of era!! His pitch and phrasing are great!
@jmm1000 ROTFLMFAO! What are you watching? Not this video! All Lou can do these days is speak the words. His singing days are very long past; as is his once slim waistline!!!
what is up with the reckless camera work way beyond reason ? how do you explain the dizzying up and down antics, going from facing the floor , then facing the sky, then facing some totally blank spot.
Wish everyone would quit talking about Lou's illness, he obviously has moved on from there and is doing fantastic. Need to think if him in the present time and that he is just as amazing as he always has been!!!
@pmcpk perfect post my friend Lou is timeless this guy is and even though he's a bit chunkier (like us all) he's still out there doing what he does best ...Carry on Mr Gram Cheers!!
@pmcpk it's understandable really. But one thing is for sure, the difference between this and when he first made his comeback is astounding. Think of it as a hard-fought victory for Lou. He sounds great.
