the droid maybe number 1 in 2009 but keep in mind that the iphone has been around longer and to be # 4 that is still pretty good. Also all new smartphones are being compared to the iphone not the droid.

Ok....so???? All the new smartphones are being compared to the iphone...good for the iPhone...that does not mean the iPhone is still the #1 Smartphone. It is the DROID. It is the nature of the market.

Do you remember 10 years ago about the Motorola StarTac? everygthing was compared to this phone...until Nokia came and developed something better.

Same thing....now the iPhone is not longer the best phone...it is the DROID....for now.

Can you phone and your network do that??? YES...my DROID can do it on Verizon network using EVDO-RevA multiple RLP flows. Make a VOIP call using GOOGLEVOICE and get a second flow with another data session for a browser for example....

Anybody willing to refute what I am saying?

Sounds technical. I just push a few buttons on my iPhone and it works like a charm. I guess I do have to sacrifice being able to write nerdy YouTube comments with many acronyms, but it's a sacrifice I'm willing to live with. (BIaSIWtLw).

For those Fanboys that do not think and take everything Apple says for granted....this feature is called "Concurrent Services" and it is supported for ALL UMTS mobiles. DROID UMTS also supports it...in EUROPO for example.

By the way...this "concurrent services" feature is also included in 1XRTT/EVDO standards, but it was never implemented.

Today, you can use EVDO-RevA multiple RLP flows, make Voip callusing GoogleVOice and make other Data sessions just like the commercial...so Apple is lying

You can do the same thing with Verizon and the DROID mobile.

Using Multiple RLP flows with EvDO-REVA services you can for example make a Voip call using GoogleVoice and get other data sessions (other RLP flows)...So Apple/iPhone are not being effective with this AD...sorry iPhone Fan boys...your toy is already obsolete....

I like how the movie theater in the ad is in Manhattan. I've had AT&T for years (and currently have an iPhone that I love), and their terrible service in Manhattan is exactly what's forcing me to leave.

for me verizon owns at&t... but cdma networks sucks

1. cant use voice and data at the same time

2. cant use a different sim card for travelling outside the country

iphone is the best smartphone out there and i think at&t is a better choice for them than verizon... just my opinion

Well, that, and the HUGE amounts of things the Verizon Droid can't do without multi-touch.

(which isn't a downfall really of the Android OS, so much as it is a downfall of the G1, HTC Touch, and Droid phone models, since Android supports multitouch)

Maybe a hardware manufacturer will get around Apple's patents on multitouch soon. The simultaneous data and voice thing seems like a much bigger problem for Verizon...

All I care about is that I hope Google brings the new navigation to iPhone.

The droid DOES have multitouch, just not in the browser. applications can be written to support this feature.
