  • Aw this was a hard year for Alice, he got into a mental hospital for his alcoholic problems in 1977...:(

  • Alice is right. Punk rock never started in the mid 70s. There was garage rock bands in the 50s & 60s playing raw basic rock music with protest lyrics. & Elvis Presley was wearing a black leather jacket 20 years before the Ramones did in 1975. Johnny Rotten has also said that Alice`s 1971 album Killer is the best rock album of all time. Yep, Alice was a big influence on the Sex Pistols. Johnny`s also said that him & Sid Vicious use to sing I Love The Dead while busking in England in the early 70s

  • hmmm...in-ter-res-ting...

  • Alice predicts "power ballads" ?

  • don't move

  • In this interview, Alice SPECIFICALLY states the he's "been doing this for 14 years now".

If this was the case he should've started in 1963???

    IMPOSSIBLE!!!

He started in 68, so add 14 years and you have an interview from 1982.

    Do the math people.

  • @mikebealsrocks He does say he started doing gigs in '64, which means he probably started in high school. The first album came out in '68, which means he was probably doing gigs but didn't have a contract.

  • @mikebealsrocks He started in 1964, when they were called "The Earwigs", so if you count 1977, it's actually 14 years

  • I love it ...

  • I remember this show! I remember they had a disco segment and a bunch of kids dancing to Disco Duck....

  • What will must be like in 1984? Well, wait 10 more years for Oasis. Then enjoy.

  • I love when he talks about his other self in the third person.

  • He reminds me of Tommy Shaw here.... with black hari... sorry :P

  • "There arnt any snakes around...?"

"Dont move." HAHA! I love how he acts so serious.

  • @TheCooperfreak LOL! I also loved that!

  • This show was produced in FT Lauderdale Forida at Videotape Associates. Mastered on IVC 9000 2" helical VTR's. You can see the head switch at the right side of the picture which was a characteristic of these machines.

  • He was dead-on about the whole 'romantic' thing.

Shortly after that, Hair Metal started. The man is a prophet.

  • Kidsworld was a Canadian show, if I'm not mistaken. I used to watch it as a kid. Do you have the rest of the program, or did you only record the Alice Cooper interview? I would love to see the intro and outro themes.

  • Talk about the most OBVIOUS interview questions!

"What's it like being a big rock star?"

"Rock music has changed in the last five years [duh!]. What do you think it's going to be like in 1984?"

    Jesus...

That's analogous to a job interview where you're asked: "So, tell me what you feel are your strengths and weaknesses?"

Pretty prophetic statement by Cooper about 1984 music being "romantic", considering the New Romantic musical movement was soon to come (Duran Duran, Human League et al).

  • @gorillabelly1 It's for a kids show. Of course, they ask simple questions.

  • of course this is in 1977

  • This was done in 1983

  • This would have been at least in 1977 because Alice mentioned punk, that that did not arrive on the scene really *until* 1977.

  • Actually he was right -- after punk rock, was the MTV era, with the new wave and new romantic style, and people like Duran Duran. So, he scored.

  • the beatles came out in 62 not 64 lol

  • they became big in 64, that's the point

  • but thats not what he said he said the came out in 64. not true wether that be the point or not

  • They came out in America in '64.

THAT'S the point he's making...he's not talking about the era in which no one in America had ever heard of them.

  • @redfenderguy

Nonsense. They'd been playing together since they were teens. Even as early as 1960 (Hamburg, The Cavern, etc.) they were playing as the Beatles and probably earlier than that. 1962 is probably when their first album was released.

  • I love this interview. Alice looks so happy and healthy.

  • well, if that's really 1977, he was at the height of his alcohol addiction then. he may look healthy, but in fact he was totaly f***** up back then

  • This CAN'T be 1977, that's clear when the interviewer asks what he thinks rock music will be like in 1984.

    This is probably 1982-83.

  • Well, the interviewer mentioned about rock being different five years before, so I'm guessing 1984 is five years after.

    1979

  • He said he was rehearsing for the tour that had a giant television set which was the Lace and Whiskey tour. That was in 1977.

  • Kidsworld was a 70's show.

  • Dude was pretty smart.

  • still is.

only now his "thing" is being an old dude with leather pants and a whip.

  • he looks like Rafael Nadal ! lol ... Alice was very interesting at this time.

  • he looked so different back then

  • Any idea who the female talking head is? She looks so familiar.

  • Kristy McNicoll.

  • yummy!

  • salve alice cooper eres la ostia alice x 100 pre
