I'm really curious on how you're gonna sort those animals. :3 A one-block tunnel into the main chicken pen would theoretically filter the chickens out eventually. . . if it didn't get water everywhere, I guess, although it's probably not the most efficient way to go about it. *shrug* You obviously know what you're doing, so I'm sure whatever solution you come up with will be clever. :P

Personally I prefer my animal pen a bit farther away from my base, but only because the sounds drive me insane. I like your egg-gathering mechanism though. I usually don't even collect/harvest animals and go for a huge wheat farm instead, but I can see how the animal version can have payoffs in the long run.

I actually have a question for you Naka, when you were exploring that little cave is that how you normally explore them, and do you ever have issues getting lost? I found that if I place my torches on the wall to the right as I explore, I don't get lost as easily. Have you tried something like that or do you have a way that works well for you?

@Notaflamingo I just take it slowly and build a mental map. Since they started the new cave generator this doesn't work as well for me, though, as they got larger and more complex and I can't keep it all in my head. I tend to just not explore too far in any more.

@NakaTeleeli what helps in huge cave systems is letting arrows into the floor. It helps navigation quite a bit.

For those wondering about the noise at 7:48-7:50 - Whenever you're near a sizeable open area, that noise come up. This can happen randomly when you're on the surface, but when you're underground, it can indicate a nearby cave system that you may not see or that you're near the surface.

Something I've started doing when food got more varied is make a chest just for food. You can store a few stacks of everything (other than mushroom stew, obviously) and you don't spend 10 minutes hunting around in your chests looking for food. Made my life so much easier.

Naka can I give you a bit of advice i've gotten from my own experiences? when you're using the furnace it's most efficient to put all of your fuel in it that way it won't get cut off. it will automatically stop burning when the regents are empty so you don't have to worry about that.

@VoonNBuddies It's not really the most fuel efficient. one will get cut off at the end, and say, half a piece of coal will be wasted if you don't have enough materials. I'm not really in a hurry to have all that smelted, so I'll save the coal for later.

Just so yah know, Shift+click can put items into your chest really fast, it just puts them in there and removes the need to click and drag, and you can do vice-versa to put them in your inventory.

@zthoop64 If you get an enchanting table, you can enchant items like swords, bows, pickaxes, armor... etc. It's set up almost like a currency system where you lose the experience levels and bar. But it's worth it for some of the enchantments.
