not sure its really fair to say she always has the same wide-eyed expression, because that's not an expression, its just the shape of her eyes. Its not like she was faintly surprised one day and then the wind changed.

She is deadpan, though. But I don't think its entirely an affectation, and I think its largley a natural effect of her pleasingly monotonous voice.

She seems to be very attracted to emotion, but you don't see it on her face so much. I think that might be why she is so wide-eyed and deadpan. It's probably why her music is so damn good, too.

But I'm not a professional, so I am only voicing a suspicion.
