5.3L is a 325 look it up... 327 = 5.4L, the new gen III chevy motors (1997-current) are a whole different blueprint from the original 283-400 chevy motors...

I know that my motor is not a 327, mine is a 323, you can look up the specs on a 2005 5.3 motor and it does not say its a 327, it says its a 323.

5.3 liter is a 325 cid..... Ive worked for GM for 25 years, contact your local dealer for more info. No relation to original style small block. Actually closer to an Olds motor design. Power comes mostly from head design and engine management system.

5.3 HO's had the aluminum block, standard 5.3's were iron blocks with aluminum heads.

Eh I'm not sure on the part number. The place that did it had them instock. If I remember right they are magnaflow XL's if I remember right if that makes sense. They are about 2 feet long each.

Hey, man do you have 2 magnaflow mufflers with true duals on that? I have an 01 with true duals no mufflers and stock cats. It is too loud for deer season so I was wanting to quiet it down by next fall. I was getting 19 on the interstate wtih mine before the true duals. What's your gas mileage like? Mine is just too loud for deer season.

Actually, 'bubba', the 2005 ext. cab short bed trucks were available with an aluminum block 5.3L. The RPO code was L33.
