  • at :24 seconds i wet my shorts a little

  • got cats and mufflers??

  • 5.3L is a 325 look it up... 327 = 5.4L, the new gen III chevy motors (1997-current) are a whole different blueprint from the original 283-400 chevy motors...

  • I know for damn sure 5.3's aren't 327's

  • I wish my truck sounded like that..

  • how much that cost ya to have installed? True dual is hard to work out underneath... so i've heard anyways

  • What magnaflow is that?

  • Sounds good but i thought true dual was from the headers back? This sounds good but it sounds like a cat back system. I like it though, not a hate comment just sayin haha.

  • see youre from maine.. im up in limestone.. got an 86 with true dual magnaflows.. gotta love it

  • what size magnaflow and dual mufflers?

  • 99-02 5.3 is 323ci

    03+ 5.3 is 325 ci

  • @Metallica1071991

this. it's exactly how it is. it's NOT a 327

  • sounds like my 4.3 running open headers at idle

  • ACTUALLY IF EVERYBODY WANTS TO GET TECHNICAL A 5.3 IS A 325.1 CI..HAHA

  • Comment removed

  • A 5.3 is a 327 i know b/c just bought a GM proformace crate engine for my 2003 silverado

  • could you tell difference in performance with the true duals?

  • Actually the 5.3 is a 325...

  • sounds good, I love feeling the power of a gas truck on a cold start up or hearing it! Beautiful! And maine wow... Thats far from Texas ha

  • So now I know exactly what my truck is going to sound like cuz I have the same one besides mines a gmc =p

  • is that a 2500?

  • your smart because you didnt get straight pipe i got 45 degreeded out like that too some of my freinds got straight pipe and there retarded

  • anybody else see his foot???

  • aluminum blocks do have a different sound to them. Just compare a 4th gen LT1 f-body to a LS1 car.

  • maine mudder eh? im from maine myslef nice ride btw cant beat a chevy and the 5.3 is a rugged motor

  • is this 4 wheel drive?

  • what year is it?

  • no cats? or are there cats?

  • American Pride Bitch! this sound beats the shit out of any Ricer with a fart cannon

  • truck sounds good. is this the stock 295 HP model?

  • no the 5.3's are not 327's they are 325 ci no similarity in design or no attempt to be a 327ci at all.

  • my mazda 6 is louder lol way louder

  • i used to watch a tv series about a lumberjack company situated in maine, "pelletier" and judging from what i've seen there i'd say that that is just the right vehicle to go round in maine :)

  • headers will just give you more power take the cat off ...ityll make her louder

  • the older 5.3s are 327's the newer ones are 325's

  • I know that my motor is not a 327, mine is a 323, you can look up the specs on a 2005 5.3 motor and it does not say its a 327, it says its a 323.

  • i got a question. now im gettin a 2008 silverado 4.8L, and im gettin true dual magnaflows, how do i make it loud? no cats? longer tips?or something? any1 kno

  • get headers

  • I am pretty positive that the 5.3 in my 2005 is a 323, not a 327 or 325.

  • 5.3's are a 327

  • @lespaul12001 My 2001 is 323...

  • @emr784

im pretty sure all the 5.3's are 327's

  • @lespaul12001 Ihave an 01' 5.3 and it's a 323

  • @lespaul12001

5.3 liter is a 325 cid..... Ive worked for GM for 25 years, contact your local dealer for more info. No relation to original style small block. Actually closer to an Olds motor design. Power comes mostly from head design and engine management system.

  • @srvbender yeah I don't know why ppl keep thinking these 5.3's are 327's like the old engines. I tell ppl this all the time.

  • @lespaul12001 to be exact a 325

  • @lespaul12001 5.3'S are actualy 323's

  • @lespaul12001 nope 325 look it up

  • @47redneck47 yeah sure the exact displacement is 325 but then look in a gmpp book... hince ls327 think before you speak, i hate fuckin know it alls and youtubes full of them just like you

  • @cummins92bankspower i think you just did the same thing so get over it. no point in gettin too tuff on you tube.

  • @lespaul12001 thought they were 325?

  • @lespaul12001 wrong, 5.3's are actually 323 if you do the math on it

  • is that the 327 in it?

  • Yes..hence 5.3

  • @MaineMudder Actually... it's a 325.

  • @AustinC5570 No, it's a 325. Everybody thinks its a 327 but its not

  • @nickl011 since when was it a 325?

  • @AustinC5570 Its always been a 325. It hasn't changed. If you do the calculations, it comes out to be 325 cubic inches. Just google it. It's a common misconception.

  • @nickl011 oohhh i gotcha man.

  • @AustinC5570 good lord... why do people think its a 327? its a 323.

  • will the aluminum block make a difference in the sound compared to an iron block?

  • just gives it like 10 more horse the 02s hard the iron block and then from then on they moved to the alum block

  • 5.3 HO's had the aluminum block, standard 5.3's were iron blocks with aluminum heads.

  • Not really..cam is different though versus an iron block

  • silverados are such bad asses

  • NICE!

I swear I've seen that truck around, or heard it rather haha. You wouldn't happen to live somewhere between machias and ellsworth would you?

  • Ha thanks..I actually live up in fort kent!

  • Well shit that's about as far away as you can get from my town without leaving the state haha.

  • what is the muffler size and do you have a x pipe??

  • OMG that sounds friggin amazing!!!

  • sounds good

  • In this video it has the cats, though since then I have punched them out. I'll try to post a new video soon.

  • what size magnalfow muffler was this? the 18"? that's how they sell all their mufflers, by body length, and i'm trying to determine which size i want

  • Does this still have the cats?

  • sounds nice other than the crackle

  • @slett10 crackle is the best part

  • uh i think it sounds extremely loud and powerful! that is nice

  • sounds like it needs to be broken in for sure. drill holes in your cat baffles, gets a lot more flow and sounds even better.

  • sounds terrible at high rpm

  • This is one of the best sounding trucks I have ever heard. You might want to watch the video again. It sounds great...

  • it sounded amazing at idle, but at high high rps it sounded like doodoo

  • I like the nice crackle it has at high rpm.

  • I wasn't feelin it.....

I wonder if the snow had something to do with it.

  • the 5.3's are not known for there great sounding straight duals. 4.8 sound way better than any other imo

  • alright i was looking some magnaflows up and what would be the price range for real True-Dual Magnaflow XL's?? and if i got it for a gmc 1500 v-8 5.0 would it sound good >? what do u think??

  • Comment removed

  • Magnaflow XL oval #13265

  • Yes I have 2 mufflers on my truck as I'm runnin true duals.

  • Very sharp lookin truck man. What part # magnaflows do you have? I'm wanting to put magnaflows on my Avalanche, but I don't know exactly which ones to get.

  • Eh I'm not sure on the part number. The place that did it had them instock. If I remember right they are magnaflow XL's if I remember right if that makes sense. They are about 2 feet long each.

  • Your truck sounds great. I would like to have my chevy 350 sound similar. How much was your exhaust system? Do you still have the stock cats on it?

  • lived in maine all my life. no where better!

  • Hey, man do you have 2 magnaflow mufflers with true duals on that? I have an 01 with true duals no mufflers and stock cats. It is too loud for deer season so I was wanting to quiet it down by next fall. I was getting 19 on the interstate wtih mine before the true duals. What's your gas mileage like? Mine is just too loud for deer season.

  • judging by the TITLE yes, he has true dual magnaflows.

  • Alright smart ass, most of the people on here don't know what the fuck they're talking about (no offense MaineMudder) because they've never crawled under a car or put one up on a lift, so before I spend another few hundred bucks on another exhaust system I would like to confirm that there is two mufflers on it not one. Thanks for the input though, from now on I'll believe everything I read on the internet.

  • Very nice, Camochevy21. Don't let those little e-raging bastards think they know everything.

  • i have a 2007 crew cab 4.8 loking at mangnaflows im going with true duels i was wondering what muffler length and tip did you use?

  • that sounds sweet!! what length magnaflows do u have

  • nice truck, sounds awesome!! I live in Maine also, wouldn't want to live anywheres else. But Im going to get a 1999-2001 silverado 1500 with either a 4.8 or 5.3, do you recomend a magnaflow?

  • ya man

    i had a magnaflow on my 99 4.8

    sounded so good

  • im soo getin magnaflow for my oldsmobile

  • Thats correct..my truck does have the L33 model 5.3..better known as the 5.3HO to the public crowd..same torque..just 15 extra ponies like mentioned

  • enjoy or extra 15 hp ghey

  • unless u swapped that aluminum block in there its iron bubba

  • Actually, 'bubba', the 2005 ext. cab short bed trucks were available with an aluminum block 5.3L. The RPO code was L33.

    Have a good one.

  • It's probly cracklying because its cold

  • that, and its probably newly installed. Bet it sounds good now in the warmer weather.

  • do you still have ur cats??

  • Yes...

  • Maine huh?

  • what size is the magnaflows?

  • yours crackles more than mine, are you running an x pipe?

  • Nope..2.25" pipe all the way through the system..and just the mufflers

  • sounds good

  • sounds great when you rev it.

how does it sound while driving?

  • very nice!
