"a very special christmas" - it was a collection by various artists for a charity - possibly Special Olympics. Not sure if it is in stores, as it is probably 20+ years old, but certainly on ebay... I play my copy every year - well worth getting. Happy Holiday!

So Bob, I'm a fan, but why did you go all PC and change the lyrics to exclude the names of both Mary and Jesus in your version? It's supposed to be "Mary nodded", and "baby Jesus, I am a poor boy too." But you changed them to "then, he nodded" and "little baby, I am a poor boy too".

For me, that ruins what would have been an otherwise great version.

I am 61 years old. In Jr. High I belonged between school, Church and a youth group I was in, I belonged to 5 choirs. The year this song became a monster radio hit, all of my choirs immediately got sheet music. Over that Christmas I think those 5 choirs gave a total of 11 performances of Little Drummer Boy. All these years later and I still temember how much fun that Christmas season was because of this song. Watching Bob Seger at the mic reminds me of how thrilling it is to sing it.

I saw a National Enquirer story about this album years ago. They pictured all the artists, including Bob, but failed to mention or acknowledge him. The stupid dumbfucks didn't recognize one of the most gifted singer/composers of his generation.

This is easily the best cover of this song ever done.
