Nightwing is the first robin Dick Greyson after he left and became part of teen titans than he wanted to have his own identity so he became nightwing the name is based off of supermans alter ego when he found a kryptonian city in a bottle but his power didnt work in their city so he became nightwing and supermans robins dicks favorite super hero after hearing the adventure story he Dick took the name to separate himself from batman

@SKATEWIZARD789 Robin isn't really supposed to be a replacement for Batman though. I believe In the books, Bruce didn't want Nightwing) to become Batman, because he felt he could be effective as his own symbol.

Darkseid killing him was a complete WASTE of time, since they're already bringing him back again this year. I know they want to improve sales with shocking material, but bringing back dead (or misplaced in time) characters gets old real quick.
