  • Well, this animal is alive and so doing, it provides for some discussion. Where are you all getting this woman's mental picture? If she is keeping an animal alive and showing it to nursing homes, that is more than a good idea, it's therapeutic. Leave this alone and accept that someone has found a way of helping.

  • this animal need a proper qualified carer not a mentally unfit woman, and as for feeding it cheetos they are even bad for humans. Going to her page her story changes by the day, she is very abusive and is only in it for the money and fame. About time the council there had the balls and took it away from her.

  • Im sorry, this animal should be taken away from her - she needs a dog. BUt aside from that, its not about her - its about IRWIN. She feeds him junk food which keeps him in sloppy poos all the time - which is killing him, Red kangaroos dont like humans - you wont find them in zoos. Unless you know how RED KANGAROOS are, then you have no idea what damage she is doing to him.

  • The Kangaroo is more sane than women in the whole state of Oklahoma. Oklahoma ranks as the highest percentage per capita state for middle-aged female sustained mental health dysfunctional patterns in the U.S. Women yielding towards more so "exotic" animals country wide is very common under such ebb of mental health incapacities. A lot of crystal meth use is becoming more prevalent amongst such women in the state largely substantiated by economic downfall. Don't date a Lady Okie - go for a Belle!

  • @xhellokitty89x "ridiculous" ...... "ridiculous" and you're a man speaking up for whom - non-users right? You certainly don't know any facts here young man so why would you comment based on emotive conjecture? Tell you what - save your confabulating mindless thoughts for somewhere that thinks they know facts just like yourself - I read the facts buddy. Get a life. I'm 32 and don't take no prudent insights into a nebulous person's mind such that be yours.

  • @xhellokitty89x Well in your own "word" that sounds "riduculous" and I find what you stated as being a "girl" truly offensive and you call yourself a twenty-year old girl as well? You make sense to yourself. Maybe when the next F-5 tornado rips through town maybe it can twist you around into reality. Like I said you stick mere conjecture. Oh what the hell - Belles OWN!!!!

  • Blah blah blah blah you clowns. The lady AND the kangaroo would both be DEAD if neither were in this situation so how bout you all just STFU and go rehab some roadkill if you're so smart.

  • from the point of view of someone living with depression, it is absolutely invaluable to have found something as positive and meaningful as a relationship like the one between the woman and the kangaroo. it's a tough situation, but given the fact that the animal's back was broken, the vet is most like right and Irwin probably won't reach his full potential; neither will he be able to function fully in the wild. something that creates so much mutual happiness should be treasured...

  • How sad & he will have to be put down eventually if his neck is broken because HE WILL GROW TO 7 FEET, its not impossible as the vet says. what a slack wit for a vet. A broken neck won't change his DNA which is programmed to grow to 7 feet.

OMG, that woman's heart is going to be absolutely broken.

Also, he needs "kangaroo grass" (native Australian grasses) not that shit she is feeding him. This is not a good story because this story will not have a happy ending.

  • This woman should not be allowed to keep this kangaroo for the same reason social services would very likely not allow her to adopt a child. Dressing it up?!? like it's a human, that's messed up! If the animal is suffering as a result of its condition it should be put down, if not, then it should be in an animal sanctuary until it can either be released into the wild or a reserve. What's next? "Therapy Lions"? "Therapy Apes"? or even "Therapy Bears"? Fuck that stupid bullshit!

  • @fakesmith797 The caring of the animal is part of her therapy and as a result, she's found a new reason to live. It appears she is addressing two needs at once. Dressing up the animal does no real harm to the animal, but feel free to ask the kangaroo when you have a free minute in Oklahoma. And your "what's next?!" argument is flawed - Google "slipper slope fallacy" to find out more.

  • @adrianisill There are better therapy treatments other than "caring" for an exotic animal. It's not about whether or not dressing up an animal does harm, it's reason for it. It shows that she sees the kangaroo less as a kangaroo and more as a human, especially with putting diapers on it, taking it everywhere like a human baby. Instead the it should be in the care of a professional veterinarian who can properly rehabilitate the kangaroo and let it live in an enclosure of it's natural environment.

  • @fakesmith797 ...except that it can't move it's legs.

  • @fakesmith797 Christopher Reeve had WAY more resources at his disposal, and how far did he get? You don't recover from this kind of injury.

  • @oyonan What the hell does Christopher Reeve have to do with this? Even if the kangaroo did not fully recover, it should still not be in the 'care' of a mentally unstable person, especially if it is only for her benefit and no regard to the kangaroo's wellbeing.

  • @fakesmith797 and there have already been cases of people thinking they can keep Apes, one person had her face nearly ripped off. Just look at clips from Fatal Attractions on youtube.

  • I'm just glad that they have unlimited resources to pursue such a case.

  • Pet kangaroos are not uncommon rural areas in Australia (I'm Australian). Often the mother is hit by a car and the pouch does it's job too well and the joey survives, so it gets raised by hand. They're not aggressive animals generally, though they need a lot of space, so I hope she lives on a farm. The main issue is that they'll bond with somebody in the family and follow them everywhere, even more so than a dog. And they'll sneak into the house and steal from the fruit bowl, they love bananas!

  • How cute is the Kangaroo,!! love to see people caring for animals, as they are so precious and always so loyal.

  • Sound like yet another case of douchebag government trying to fuck up for animal lovers.

  • ❤ HEARTWARMING ❤

  • Kangaroos are NOT pets. They are wild animals. Not domesticated. They are potentially dangerous and unpredictable, I sincerely hope no other "accidents" occur when this one grows up.

  • @donbasuradenuevo Did you watch the video? The kangaroo is disabled. It's not going to survive in the wild.

  • @brixtertabun And that's why there are zoo's and specialized shelters for injured animals. Many people watching this will now want to own a mini kangaroo or wallaby in their backyard. Regardless of being injured/disabled, it is still NOT a pet.

  • I am so surprised for the people who worried about someone that took a very good care of their pets. They should worry more for those who abuse the animals.

  • I hope they let her keep the kangaroo. Animals are great companions and can help people get through tough times.

  • I hope they allow her to keep it. It's obvious the two love each other. If it does recover from the condition, allow her to donate it to a zoo but allow her to continue the care for it. Instead of worrying about this, how about doing something about the idiots who don't have health insurance but want to keep poisonous snakes as pets? I don't want to pay for someone's stupidity when they get bit and need medical assistance.

  • wtf is a kangaroo doing in USA?

  • @jacksonshakur There is an exotic animal care facility in Broken Arrow, OK.

  • @finnemccool OooooooooooKkkkkkkkkkkk!

  • At this point, the animal might no longer be able to fend for itself. Maybe the next best place is a zoo or a wildlife sanctuary. Kangaroos are not meant to be pets.

  • is not there any real news??? come on AP...

  • I hope they let her keep it.So much is taken away from us and just a little bit of happiness is all we ask.

  • When I browsed over the headline for a splitsecond I read:

    Ugly. Woman fights injured Kangaroo

    WTH?

  • exotic animals should never be allowed as pets.

  • @uzimodem This kangaroo is not exotic and it's not a pet. But in principle you are right, no wild animals should be allowed as pets.

  • @1p2o3i :well, i would say I differ with you on the term "exotic" since Kangaroo's arent as numerous as dogs and cats, but I dont want to debate over semantics.

  • stay out of people's business, mr. big govt....

  • @StateOfTheArts

so if i come and kill you and your family, you want the gov't to stay out of it!?!

when you have a civilization of more than 300 million people, how do you propose that it be reasonably governed without big gov't? whether you are comfortable with it or not, reasonable people must acknowledge that big gov't is a requisite for big populations.

don't get me wrong, she should keep her therapy. due the AP bringing this to light, she is likely to receive much support and keep it.

  • He's cute

  • this is insane... red kangaroos ... the most dangerous ones there are as a pet??? god americans really can be that stupid

  • @incredingo well she may be treating him as a pet now, but the alternative would have been euthanasia

  • Comment removed

  • @incredingo You're stupid. How can a disabled kangaroo be dangerous?

  • My Name is Erwin :))
