yes everyone here loves alex turner. he's a great artist in every project he does, even his spoken word piece is magical. A person with a neutral viewpoint would say we are just being fans, which we are. But the fact that EVERYBODY in the music industry that has dealt with Alex says he is a genius really speaks to his talent.Even the guy from the kooks who kicked alex in the face says he is a musical genius. He can deny it all he wants, but Alex Turner is a once in a lifetime talent.

well, keep in mind that the Beatles actually started as a punk band (for the 50's) with Sgt.Peppers and their less significant songs. tAM are growing up, they don't have to write catchy pop anymore- they have enough fans to branch out into the music they've wanted to write all along. Turner's solo work is just as dark as Humbug, it just sounds more mellow because he doesn't have the backing effects from the band. Definitely the next Lennon though- this kid's amazing.
