agree, seems to be an attempt to subtly poke fun at the french, like most european nations france is simply a more healthy and mature society than america, much of americas "culture" goes back on the crude religious zeal starting in its early days, and the oppression and violence towards women in puritan societies is well documented, it's a bit like saying the nazis had a great sense of family..
