  • Boet Fuaaaaaark man.....here am i light years away in perth wishing i was sitting at kingspark with my south african buddies smoking pot and listening to our local 80s music.

  • Good old times, the 80s, man school in Grahamstown.

  • Amazing memories from the eighties and some of the characters I met in the army. Civvies have been boring since ;) Thanks for the upload.

  • Eish... This takes me back...

  • Thanks for uploading. Brings back some great memories of life growing up in Cape Town and Durban.

  • Good music, good times. The 80's in Jo'burg and Durbs was the best. This brings back memories, all of them sweet.

  • OMG, this is so F@#king awesome, I grew up to this & love it. So hard to find but wonderfull. Thanks

  • guys i swear to you, erik windrich is now working at my high school in london, england. The name of the school is kingsbury high school

  • @TheNightmareAssasin I think you are right.

  • What about this one Don & Wayne.I can still feel my neck hurting today.

  • Hey dude, thanks for posting these classics. To risk an overused phrase, they simply don't make 'em like this any more. I just wish I'd appreciated these bands (Ella Mental, Via Afrika etc) more when I was 14!

Do you know 'Teddy Boy' by the Spectres? It's a brilliant song by an SA band, and I can't find it anywhere!?

  • this is awful

  • good old south african music :) :) <3 never gets old <3

  • @furakkueroru Don't talk shit you fucking blind cunt!!!!

  • @AfricanSouthernCross England its a shithole! The only good thing is the dole. That is my opnion so what!

  • @furakkueroru I am a South African living here as well, I have one thing to say - If you dont like it go home, same as we said to the immigrants back home in the 70's

  • @PeterGair I am English. Theyre all trying to evoid the shadows (avoid the blacks)

  • so we are now the 'when we's'

  • Van der Heever! Legend Shadow!!!

  • I have been living in Germany for the past 11 years and finding this brings back brilliant memories of jolls & friends in Jo'burg. Thanks for the upload Rockafrica

  • As a South African, I will not be insulted in my own country, be it by some "enlightened" expat who should spend a few rounds in a prison cell with black men, or some traitorous white

pro-ANC SA vermin who should receive his comeuppance sooner than later.

  • @cytotoxix Fully agree with you...it seems this fuck up calling herself "rockafrika" is one of these so-called "enlightened" cunts.

  • This Rockafrica dude thinks because he can post a great SA song that he has the right to play Julius Malema. Does this "thing" live in SA ? Has he or his wife been raped ? Family members murdered ? Robbed lately ? This is internet, so do not dictate to anyone. You don't like comments, then go to Nazi Germany - and take Malema with you.

  • "saffers" is what the Australians, aka "the convicts", call us South Africans. Never mind.

  • Great song from an era when we could actually APPRECIATE this once-lovely country of ours. Nowadays we have to put up with a kaffir government, potholes, murders, rapes, and

    "Pope" Angus Buchan.

  • Go Saffers!

  • i guess they were KING of Kings , once, very briefly along time ago...

  • Lekkerrrrr

  • why does this song bring back so many memories!

  • I guess that's a rhetorical question.

    Great song great times.

  • too much blah blah, in my opinion i love saffers when issues dont become the issue. rock on and long live great music!!!

  • "saffers" - now what the hell is that? Did you just make it up?

  • Wow...too many memories rush back...thanx for posting..it made my 39year old SA heart beat a bit faster.

  • Bang on and thanx for uploading..wow..good memories..nice 1

  • They were'nt bad, but Rabbit were the best, ahead of there time

  • Wayne Harker, the drummer, the cousin, the wanker

  • Where was that at....Zipppers by any chance

  • I've been looking like mad on the net for Face To Face song Here We Are, or Night Of The Long Knives, but the internet had never heard of such group, so i was so suprised to find this one

  • One of Face to Face went to Randpark High School in the mid 80s... it's a long shot coz I don't remember his name but it could be a lead if you're in Friends Reunited or Facebook?

SA people check out Sprinbok Radio website

  • Thanks for your comments maheshino - no problem :o) Glad to hear that most people are enjoying the music & that it's bringing back some good memories. Hope to add a few more in time. I think Rabbits "Charlie" might be on here already.

  • Please where can i find evoid sonngs on cd!!!

  • OMG!! Finally been waiting for this for ages! Wonderboom's version is nice though!

  • Thanks so much for this! This was my favorite song that I heard while living in South Africa. I would hear it while shopping in the grocery stores in Summerstrand. Then by mere coincidence I saw Wonderboom play it in Port Elizabeth- Little did I know then that it was a cover. Thanks for the insight.

  • Saw them live at Pietermaritzburg university in the 80's. Their live version of their song "The Warrior" was awesome I remember!

Anyone remember The Helicopters? Petit Cheval? Dog Detachment?

  • lol i remeber them all. how about Falling Mirror and the Kalahari Surfers?

    Sweatband, Askari etc etc?

    Good times:))

  • I remember Petit Cheval. OMG That's a blast from the past. Thanks for the memory flashes :))
