  • wow, what a difference. I am used to seeing all CN tracks, solid welded rail, 2 or 3 sets of tracks that look like they were shot with a laser. It is neat to see this little old railroad pulling a few cars to their destination. That is where really "the rubber meets the road" so to speak. Without these little guys, the big guys wouldn't have any train cars to whiz cross country.

  • I think maybe the track could use some work ...

  • The P Way looks a bit rough!

  • @thetickleninjas It's a Hancock air whistle. See a few of the comments below.

  • @RailPhotographer oh thanks :)

  • that would be a nathan K5H horn to be exact and its soundin great

  • This is one of my favorite's!!! Are there any sites on here that have rail lines like this? I don't care much for the class 1 railroads..

  • Why does this have 7,630 views, its a train, going slow.

  • @NickIsOriginal The locomotive is rare and it's painted in an attractive color scheme.

  • @NickIsOriginal How does it feel to contribute to those 7,630 views?

  • @NickIsOriginal Why did you watch it?

  • rail is a catastrophy, locomotive rocks like a ship on high seas...

  • Great horn

  • fresh track

  • why does he have 2 horns?

I see a hancock H4700 Air Whistle on the short hood, and I know there is a horn on the long hood side of the cab

  • I've heard them use both; the Hancock sometimes is used to signal to a crewmember on the ground.

  • ok

what is the Horn on the Long hood?

  • This loco has no ditch lights? I thought these were mandatory in 2004...

  • Ditch lights are only required for locomotives going over a certain speed. This railroad is 10 miles per hour, maximum.

  • sweet train horn

  • How old are those tracks? They look to be only about 3 inches tall.

  • They're taller than that; but I'd guess most of the rail on this railroad is from the late teens or sometime in the 1920s. Maybe the 30s.

  • Ya, after I posted the comment i got a better look at them and noticed, but it didn't matter much.

  • Looks to be mostly 90lb rail. Posibly even 80lb rail.. Stuff like this is hard to come by now, and when you dofind a railway supplier that has some, it is very expensive.. Even CSX has problems getting rail this size to use inindustrial tracks.

  • awesome video, great engine. lol that tracks getttin tough. lol i was wondering if at about :20 seconds weather that first hopper would just the tracks or not lol. 5 stars!

  • I have a place on the river in NY. Train comes by all the time, its a part of the history and scenery

  • March 30, 2008
