I think the ghosting depends on a lot of things (the ghosting is like dull spots in the finish this could be down to the type of timber-speeds old CA glue and human error.
What keeps the bushing from sticking to the tube after you apply the CA glue?. Does the glue not wick into the tiny space , where the bushing touches the wood and even wicks onto the mandrel ?. Nice to follow video and clear and precise naration . Thanks
Great video. I need some help with the amount of glue to use. Unfortunately due to the camera angle, the actual application of glue to the towel is obscured so I can not tell how much you are using. Another angle would help. Thanks for doing this.
you are the man....i am trying the slow method tomorrow minus the accelerator i will let you know how it goes for me compared to my normal pressure/heat method. thanks again for sharing...as always very informative.
just made a couple pens using this technique. best tutorial ever! thank you so much!

Grubb, when you say ghosting do you mean turning white. I did one and it turned white when I used the accelerator. Could it be my speed was to high?

@goingwiththegrain little wax on end of blank and bushing will stop it from grabbing or you can use Delrin bushings.
