We could repeal the health care bill save $2 trillion dollars and still keep regulations for not denying coverage.If we don't it will break the bank and we will all suffer. Obama has put Bush policy on steroids that is why we are not coming out of this recession. My idea is STOP and CUT SPENDING AND CUT TAXES across the board. CUT corporate tax to 15%. Leave the economy alone and let it fix itself. Most small business are having credit trouble due to slow sales and high taxes.

If a U.S. company has plants in Ireland they pay the 12% corp tax, in Hong Kong t16%, in Cayman 0% and on top of that U.S. multinational taxes. Where Other Countries that open plants in say cayman just pay that countries tax of 0% or if Hong Kong opens a plant in Ireland they pay just the 12% tax. The U.S. is at a disadvantage for competing world wide. Why do you think so many companies have completely left the U.S.

@quizerry It's sure as hell not the tax rate. They found a way around the tax rate a long time ago. We've got environmental laws. There's healthcare companies have to deal with. Pensions. Unions. And the biggest one of all, a decent wage. You know what they're making in China, at say Toyota? About 45 bucks a week. That job here pays about 17 an hour. They're treated like slaves. And that's why I read a story last week about them jumping out the windows killing themselves, the see no future..

Look at the amount of taxes we all pay and look what our Government has done with those hard earned dollars. They have let the people down. @quizerry We may have increased exports, but I think you know how big the trade deficit is. Trade has to be on a level playing field for it to work. And I can see these companies wanting to do business there and build China's economy, but you don't have to make all of the products we buy in the U.S. over there. They're greedy. I was reading something about the NAFTA contract (which is up) that says for so many years it'll be tariff free. They need to make some changes or we're finished.

Reducing the Corporate tax to say 15% flat tax ( no write offs no complexities) and no multinational tax would not only help create jobs here but bring world wide businesses to the U.S. People need to wake up to the fact that when business taxes are raised by a dollar, 70 to 92 cents comes out of employees’ pay.

Chinese imports allow Americans to stretch their paychecks further, raising real wages for millions of workers especially helpful to the poor and middle class. U.S. exports to China have increased 170% over the past ten years. If we opened up more free trade to China and the world we could be exporting vast more products and commodities.

Word has it that the bill signed into law is quite a bit watered down compared to something that would would have any real change. And again, this assertion of change is devoid of detail.

Expanded lending? Does that mean that the fed is giving even MORE money to banks that will take it and use it for other purposes? Isn't the ability to accommodate small business lending part of what TARP was supposed to accomplish?
