what does this pedal do? is it an eq curve with a frequency and gain control that can be "replicated" with an eq pedal? or is there more to it? i love anything that can make my tone sparkle.
My BBE am64 just came in the mail today and i cant get a good tone for avenged sevenfold type soloing, im just using a 20 watt amp until december, but do you think it's the amp or the pedal? can u please help me out
@Aidan7x depends on the amp and guitar, if you have a guitar with humbuckers then you can get the sound you want, and the amplifier will vary on how you EQ settings. While the pedal is not exactly designed for what metal can be seen today, is more well designed for things like Led Zeppelin, Blue Cheer, etc..
What up TK... i have a question hope you can assist me... i just got the BBE Boosta Grande and wondering where i put it in the pedal board chain??? do i use it as one of the first pedals in the chain order as a overdrive pedal??? or do i put it at the end of the chain before the BBE sonic maximiser??? hheeeelllllllllppppp!!!!
tone king rules, I love it when you say alrighty boys and girls I will just give you one of those bad boys right their lol its why everyone tunes into your reviews, and they are good of course,
A/B comparison not matched for obvious differences in overall level and frequency response. Oops! Whatever the Maximizer really does is hard to subjectively separate from the obvious differences if they are not compensated for.
Hey "Brother Tone King"..could you do me a Major favor...and please try cutting out the long audition stuffs as there are a multitude of guitarist & bassist who are coming here primarily looking to see what the Complete Range & Scope of these individual effects pedals & many of us are also very busy with our rehearsal schedules & gig scene and don't have the luxury of time to sit through your seemingly full jams as we just want to see if the Pedals you DEMO will suit our needs???That's all!!
@ZOMBIELANDakaUSA hey brother, i see your point, however, i doubt very much if i would ever need lessons from Cats like this as i kind of already got my shit down pretty good thank you!!!And besides i have been to so many of these video's where i need to hurry through cause i am a Multi-tasker & way too many of these Cats chatter too much & better if they would just start playing notes & chords and reach over click it on & make sure to DEMO all settings too
Questions: I have been researching these things for a while and trying to figure out if I need this or a compressor/eq. Which would be better for finalizing the sound, clarity, punch, etc. Also, would this go before or after a noise gate? It seems like every pedal is meant to go at the end of the chain... And what about about a looper pedal (Boss RC, Digitech Jamman, etc). Any advice is appreciated.

I like your videos alot because you cover most things. But you need to work a bit more on your picking attack. Because you make most things sound flappy.
@lmsjr I need a little help,I want to change my standard pickups on a BC Rich Warlock with halo active pickups,if I order 2 pickups,do I get all the electronics I need to change them or just the pickups?I asked you beacose I didnt know how to contact them,on their website the contact button redirects to the homepage, and there is only one e-mail that is for sales and shippment questions.
Hey TTK, funny man you were thinking Ozzy. With that riff you were playing it kinda gave me that 2 minutes to midnight / powerslave vibe... Like you said, pretty crisp sounding... I wonder how the Sonic Maximizer would sound pushing a JCM800... Cheers man and thank you for all your efforts! You've outdone yourself with this month's pedal galore called "30 pedals in 30 days" we all know they are 50+. Cheers!
@TheTactical6string Depends on what youre playing guess. If ya playing some type of metal, and u want thick, well defined chugging for rhythm then yes its a boon.
But other forms of pop music it may not be necessary.
@AcousticBeaver I think that because he's so well known on YouTube, when he contacts a manufacturer about demoing a product, they get it to him at a decreased price or free. I'm sure that he isn't sponsored by anyone because he uses a variety of amps and therefore wouldn't be showcasing their product as well. But mostly he just buys stuff.
Guys..the Tone King says hes not the guitar guru!! Atleast he tries..!!and its a good check out vid.

@IHateCreed666 "that riff ... at 1:23... what's it from"
It's from pedal-point thumping on the E string while sliding some fifths up the neck on the A and D strings.
95,496,793 guitarists "wrote" that riff independently. And that's just between the years 1983, and 1987. (Data not available for other years.)
Odds that it matches some part of some randomly selected Hammerfall song: 1 in 17.

TTK, BBE also has the Sonic Stomp as a plug-in for a DAW. Any idea how accurate it is compared to the real pedal?
Thanks!

Adds some girth! Im surprised tho, TK that you didnt use the Sonic Stomp on a clean guitar sound to hear its effect on the lows and highs on cleans.

Not my first choice... I prefer using an Aphex Xciter.

is there a major difference in tone between the Maximizer rack and the pedal?
