arac., What are you talking about? Car insurance premiums are based on one's driving record. If you have a bad record, you pay high premiums. Not so with this health care bill. Also, if you drive, you put others at risk and therefore, you should be required to have insurance. With health, it's just you. If you don't want to be covered, it should be YOUR choice. Instead, the bill wants to cram health care down everyone's throats.

I think you're not seeing the big picture here.. My fuzzy progressive friend was explaining how the passing of this bill will be financially beneficial to both the corporate insurance companies and the public at large. It will dissolve the budget and bring peace to the Middle East. It will enable communication with dolphins and all other sea life (except for halibut holdouts who are known to have a libertarian bias). And best of all it will not criminalize anyone who desires an alternative.

It will benefit for the MD's and specialists who will have direct access to Medicaid patients at private insurance premiums (courtesy of tax payers) and of course, insurance companies will be the biggest winners. As for the working class tax payer, they will pick the bill (big tax hike coming) and they will not benefit at all from this. Health insurance and healthcare costs in general are too high and this bill certainly do not address this issue.
